Did you check for voltage and ground at the lighter socket wiring. In the diagram, orange wire is voltage, black wire is ground. Got to have both voltage and ground.
Did you use a test light and check for voltage at applicable fuse? The fuse is in underhood fuse box.

SOURCE: LOOKING FOR A FUSE BOX DIAGRAM FOR 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT

It's under the hood, on the driver's side, under a square, black box with a lightning symbol on it. Loosen the flower-shaped screw that holds the lid of the box down, remove the lid, flip it upside down and when you look at the inside of the lid, you'll see a map of all your car's fuses. There's also a fuse diagram on the very end of the dash, but it's accessible only when you open the driver's side door. When you're driving, that end of the dash is blocked by the closed door.

SOURCE: How do I fix my cigarette lighter in my 2000

There is a fuse located in the "underhood junction block." The fuse is a 20A fuse, and is in cavity number 34 -- called the "AUX PWR/CIGAR" cavity.

The underhood junction block is on the driver's side of the engine compartment. There may even be some spare fuses for you to use in there.

Need to no witch fuse is for my lighter in my Pontiac grand am /2002

Cigarette lighter uses a fusible link, located in the wiring behind the actual lighter socket. You can get a new fusible link at an auto parts store.

Replace fuse for cigarette lighter on 2003 pontiac grand am

Even with the brand new 20 amp fuse, there is no power going to the cig. lighter socket. Nothing. Mine is a 1999 Gr Am and the socket itself has a porcelain end on it to dissipate heat. There are three prongs on the end of it, two with wires, and a copper one without anything on it. Could that be the culprit?

Cigarette lighter on 2004 Grand Prix isn't working.

The lighter socket or the element.
Check the element for burn marks and the socket for debris blocking the contacts.

Cigarette lighter doesn't work 2002 Pontiac grand am GT changed

Make sure the wire to the back of the lighter is still live, all you need is a 12 volt tester.Connect the earth clip on the tester to a good earth usually a part of the car body(a screw or bolt head)put the tester into the lighter socket and touch the contact at the bottom.cigarette lighters are usually permanently live but also try it with the ignition on,if it is live the tester will illuminate but i think your wire may be disconnected from the live source.hope this helps.

Cigarette lighter not working properly in Pontiac...

This is a very common issue, either the ground at the back of the lighter socket is pulled off, or more likely the socket is defective, they are very easy to change, u can use a generic replacement from any parts store, the factory part will be at least 2X as much..
