When inserting any disc message comes up Reading and then another message "Type cannot be played. Please insert different disc.

Clicking sound when DVD is inserted then it comes up Reading, and then another message "Type cannot be played. Please insert different disc.
I have tried many DVDs all with the same results. Used compressed air to clean the optics with no change. Pulled the DVD player out , it was very clean and the optic assy moved freely
