Well I have a few questions:

Did you purchase a wireless router?
Are you trying to set up wireless network in your house?
Do you need a wireless network in the house?
Do you know if your computer has a wireless network card?

Most of the routers work instantly after being plugged in and wires on place. I need to know much more about what your doing and also could you post the brand and model of your computer and the router you purchased?

Basically please write out the problem your having in detail.

Make sure the wireless adapter on your computer is turned on, laptops have a switch or a button you need to press in order to first turn on the wireless and then connect to it.

  • Ekse Jul 26, 2009

I have no idea, could you post the brand and model of your computer?

  • Ekse Jul 26, 2009

    Thanks, just a minute.

    Sorry? what?

  • Ekse Jul 26, 2009

if your wifes computer is hooked up with the wire and it works, you don't need to do anything about it.

I am running hughes net satelite internet on a hughes HN 9000 modem and trying to setup and configure my linksys E3000 wireless router for two hp laptops on direct ethernet connection to our desktop,...

Are you trying to connect the laptops via wireless? Is that where you are seeing 75 mbps? I am assuming you are, and 75 mbps is really not how fast your internet connection is. Rather, that is how fast you are transferring data from your laptop to the wireless router and back. Generally speaking, this should be a way faster connection than your internet is running at. Chances are your internet connection speed is 10 to 20 mbps, which is good and fast.

It is easy to get the two confused, but basically a wireless connection of 75 mbps is an uber fast connection to your wireless router, and only if your actual internet connection was faster than that 75 mbps would you see any slowness due to that.

Wireless N routers are capable of delivering up to 100 mbps connection speeds, but again that is only from your device to the router. The router then goes to your modem and out through the internet. Chances are that connection is not 100 mbps because of interference, which can be walls, other wireless devices, etc.

One way to test your actual internet connection speed is to go to www.speedtest.net and click on one of the links on the map. This will tell you how many mbps you get to the internet.

CAN NOT GET INTERNET FROM DIR-655 TO NS7000S

Are you trying to set up the router. You can do it manually without the CD. Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem. If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first. If your computer is able to go online through the modem then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router. open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Wndr 3300 net gear router wont work with hn 9000 hughes net modem

I went to the Hughes web site to check out the modem. They say it is also a router. I think you will have to disable the router abilities of your WNDR 3300 Net Gear Router.

Get into the Netgear setup by loging on to it.In its WAN setup select Static IP Address and set the Static IP Address to the same as the hughes modem, except for the last number which should be about 50 greater. IE: Hughes 192.168.12.1 and Netgear 192.168.12.55.

In the DHCP setup, disable the DHCP Server

In the Wireless setup, Give your network a name is SSID. You should also set up security to keep others off you internet connection with a WEP key.

I hope this helps.

NetWave Base G4 router "goes to sleep"

well one thing if your router uses the same IP address as your hughes net then they will interfere with each other. hook your router to your pc and leave the hughes modem out of the equation then go to command prompt on your pc and type in ipconfig that will tell you what ip address your router is using that way you can get into the settings of the router and change whatever you need to change.....I would just set it back to default and make sure the ip address is not 192.168.0.1 because that is the dynamic ip for hughes
