You can retrieve your data by removing the hard drive and connecting it to an USB hard drive adapter then plug it into the USB port of a working computer. This computer will see this as an external storage device, you can then open the various folders and files to back up your data.
You can then return the hard drive back into the Toshiba then format the hard drive and reinstall Windows to get your Toshiba working again.
You can download thedevice drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from theirdownload page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get thecorrect drivers. Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6848 HAS NO POWER. NO LIGHTS COME ON AND I PLUGGED THE POWER CORD INTO ANOTHER TOSHIBA AND IT WORKS. NOT A POWER CORD PROBLEM. NO FANS RUN OR ANYTHING WHEN I HIT THE POWER BUTTON....

TRY TO REMOVE THE BATTERY AND JUST PLUG THE CHARGER ON IT AND ON POWER. SWITCH IT ON. IF IT TURNS ON THEN YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT YOU NEED A NEW BATTERY OR IF IT DOES NOT, TAKE IT TO A COMPUTER SPECIALIST TO CHECK ANY HARDWARES THAT ARE NOT FUNCTIONING.

THANK YOU

Getting the lenovo m500 dlp projector to work

Solved ....when it projects it says to push Fn and F7 simultaneously for Lenovo laptops. The symbol for the F7 on Lenovo is the computer screen and keyboard plus a screen with a line attaching. On the Toshiba it is the F5 key. Pressing the Fn and F5 keys on the Toshiba simultaneously gives 5 box choices, the middle is CRT and the correct one to transfer from computer screen to projector.

No display, nothing on screen

Try to hit the Fn+F8 button at the same time 5 or 6 times. This is what is used to turn off your LCD to plug it to a projector or to use a different screen. If that does not work then try to find a desktop monitor and plug it into the 9-pin slot on your laptop. Again hit the FN+F8 buttons again, if the display shows up on the desktop screen then you know that something has burnt out your LCD screen on your laptop.

Are you using dualview (cloneview)? Try just the single view, projector only. If that doesn't work, reboot with the projector cord plugged in. A similar problem happenned to me before and that's what I did to resolve it.
