If your outdoor unit has a control board/circuit board, it will located at the outdoor units electrical panel where the line voltage electrical whip goes into the unit. Should be 2 screws that hold the panel/cover on. Turn off power, remove panel, and board should be visible.

My carrier split ac trip after some time and green light blinking contsly

If this is a ductless split call a tech! The ductless split systems can be a troublesome unit to diagnose. A few things to try. Clean air filters and ensure coil behind is clean. And build up or debris on blower wheel (indoor fan blades) will cause unit to fault. Turn off power at breaker or disconnect and clean (with water hose and medium pressure) the outdoor coil. Be sure you will not damage outdoor coils fins with too much water pressure. Turn power on. If this simple service don't do it again, call a tech! Be sure to ask if they have someone who is experienced with mini split systems and be patient. Even the best technician will need to call carrier for tech support.

What would cause the compressor to not turn on with a Carrier Model FY4A? The fan continuously runs but the A/C wil not turn on. The thermostat shows that it is cooling but the unit does not turn on.

Check power to outdoor condenceing unit. if no power reset breaker or change fuses. If they blow again you have a short in the unit. If you have power to unit and is still not comming on call a service provider!

I think that my circuit breaker has flipped on my Carrier 25hbr heat pump and I cannot locate to flip the breaker

If this is a split unit there is two brakers one in the house at the panel and one at the outdoor unit it should either have fuses or a breaker inside the box.

Carrier Infinity systems, do not have a manual reset switch. It will have an automatic reset depending on the failure.
I would first, turn off the breaker to the indoor and outdoor units. Wait about 5 mins and turn the breakers back on. Doing this will reset the Control Board in the system. The system itself, is probably locked out.
This should get the system to come back on, However, you may have the problem come back and lock out the system again.
If this happens again, i would advise calling a Carrier dealer with Infinity systems to test it.

Hope this helps

The unit come on outside but the fan is not spinning. is there a bearing out. we are afraid we will burn the compressor up if we try to run it with out the fan moving

often the power to the outdoor unit is turned off for the winter season. check your electrical panel to be sure that the breaker is on and then go outside and see if there is an electrical control box near your unit which has a power switch or breaker in it.

On a split unit the contacts are closing but compressor wont come on or the fan what could be the problem

if you have access to a multi meter tester you need to check the voltage at the top of the contactor you hear and at the bottom with the contactor closed should have 240 volts ac (+ or-) top and bottom (Line and Load)
if you have voltage at the top and not at the bottom replace contactor or check for debris in the contacts and remove --also check for blackened or burnt contacts also(shut off electric first)

check your circuit breaker for your outdoor unit from the house panel for on position and it may be labeled a/c unit or outdoor unit
check the box near your outdoor unit for a breaker off or tripped or if you have fuses check to see if they are good with a contiuity tester, Again with the power to be off in doing so.
if fuses are good you will have continuity across them( a reading) if not no continuity(no reading fuse bad)

Carrier hi wall split unit on light flashes 4 times ???

as i am a mechanic in sydney australia, i can honestly say that the chance of you getting help via carrier is very very slim... the reason it is doing that is that it has a legitimate problem unfortunately i have a carrier 42g250h which is flashing 4 times aswell... i have been waiting now 10 working days for carrier to call me to tell me what the problem is... if you can afford to do it, throw the damn thing out and buy a new one, i hate to say it but even an LG will work better than these heaps of ****
