When playing a dvd, the picture keeps stopping every few seconds

Try to clean the optical lens through the lens cleaner.....other wise just replace the optical lens..

When playing a DVD, picture & audio stop for a second one a while, no problem when playing a CD


this may just be the mechanism changing diretion as it reads the second layer on the disc usually because the film is too long to go on one side of the dvd disc.
quite normal.
but if happening quite a lot during playing a film then it could be something as simple as cleaning the mechanism. NOT for the untrained

if you are playing a copied movie and it was incorrectly done.....problem lies in the dvd disc, have it replaced with a new one.

If this problem happened within a few seconds, you probably have dirty heads. If It happened slowly you could have an alignment problem. Both of these problems should be repair professionally.

Picture will freeze.


Either the disc is scrathed or you have to remove the cover and take a q-tip with rubbing alcohol and clean the lens.

f you accidentally set Progressive Scan to ON (within
Analog TV), press STOP for five seconds to restore the
picture to normal operation.

Setting up the chanel on the VCR


(FROM MANUAL)
RF Output Channel
1-Set TV to Channel 4
2-Insert a prerecoeded tape into the unit
3-Press Source until VCR light is lit
~ if noise is seen on TV screen, press (VCR/TV) on remote
4-Press play> once
5- After a few seconds, press and hold {Play>} on the unit for 3 seconds
~ The RF output channel will change to channel 4 from 3 and you will see a playback picture
~ When a picture does not appear on the TV screen, repeat step 4
6- Press (STOP) to stop plasyback
