If you have to ask, its best that you let a trained tech do it. The horz. transistor controls the H/V -flyback basically a switch for high voltages. when it fails you get no power up. Julio It can be very dangerous to work with.

Push power button and lold it in green light blinks one time and then nine times fast and then cuts off light try a few seconds later and green light comes on for a few seconds and off it does this three...

You are in HV shutdown mode, Have the Horizontal output transistor replaced as well as the Horizontal output transformer. These are the most common failure for this problem, The three blinks indicates Delfection problem, and these parts are part of the main High Voltage Deflection circuits.

I have an RCA tv that when you turn it on the green button stays on for 10 seconds then goes out it does this 3 times then stops. Picture never comes on

it is going into shutdown, alot of things can cause this, bad solder connections on the power supply/sweep module, shorted flyback and/or horizontal output transistor, could even be shorted picture tubes. most likely it's bad capacitors and solder connections on the power supply/sweep module, needs at least some minimal soldering skills.

Two major problems occur to cause this, and both are on deflection p.c.b. First, after removing the back look for two or three capacitors in the power supply that are bulging or have exploded in power supply and replace. You can see this looking down on chassis and this occurs on the top of the components in question. Second, look for burn marks or arcing around high voltage transformer, or simply a shorted horizontal output transistor. You will need an ohm meter to test the transistor. These solutions have fixed every identical set to yours,(20 or so) If you would rather replace the board try PTS out of bloomington or google your model number for replacement parts. Good luck.

If the fuses are good and the on indicator lights you could have a short in the power supply, the high voltage section or just about any part of the circuitry. The most common problem is the high voltage. If you know TV safety and how to check transistors, unplug the unit and check the horizontal output transistor. If it is shorted replace the transistor, flyback and HV divider. If this does not solve the problem you will probably need a repair tech as this symptom could be a short anywhere in the unit. Good luck and remember to be safe.
