This procedure isn't as easy, as say, a 1970 Ford 170 cid, but it isn't rocket science either. Best advice is to get a Chiltons/Haynes repair manual that covers this make/model/year. It will lead you step-by-step on how to do the repairs you want to do. Lots of pictures and diagrams as well. It has a troubleshooting section, as well as sections on interior repair/maintenance. Best of luck with you little go-beastie.

I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix gtp 3.8 supercharged and i want to know if it has a pcv valve and if it does where?

the last one I did was on the passenger side on top of the intake. it was covered with a flat plate that was held in place with 2 bolts I think. remove the plate and the PCV is under the cover. pull out valve there is a spring between the cover and the valve, make sure it is put back in place when re-assembling. it does not use a hose to control crankcase pressures.

How do you change valve cover gasket on pontiac grand am se 2.4l?

mcdevito75 here, You"d need to move everything attached to the valve cover out of the way without disconnecting any hoses or wires, then you need the tools, a 1/4 inch drive ratchet set with long sockets and extensions. Chances are your valve cover is just a little loose from engine vibration. Let your local repair shop check it for you.

Have not had the pcv changed in a while and cannot locate it. 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix 3800 series 3, with super charger.

If I remember correctly this vehicle has a plastic plenum and the pcv valve is inside the plenum. Only time it is usually replaced is when the intake gasket needs replaced (and it will).

Remove the coil assy. then remove the valve cover bolts, remove the 10 mm bolts from the timing cover, if you look between the 2 cam gears you will see 3 bolts each side, remove them and the valve covers are off.

Want to locate pvc valve on 2000 pontiac grand am 6 cyl

You'll find the PCV valve on the right side of the front valve cover. You'll need to remove the valve in order to troubleshoot it to determine if you need a replacement. To remove, pull the PCV valve out of the cover and detach the hose

Test the old PCV valve to determine if it needs replacing. Blow air through it in order to see if it is clogged. If it does not seem to ventilate, then you'll need to install a new valve.

Pop the new PCV valve into the spot of the old valve. With the correct part, it should snap right in. Take the hose and reattach it in order to complete the installation.
