sand back and treat the rust with a phosphoric acid rust converter,then prime and paint as per usual,you question does'nt state where you are and local regulations usually say what sorts of paints you can or can't use

clean the ABS censors there dirty,,,
then reset them using new shims press the reset button for 10 seconds and ride the bike for about 5 miles this should reset the ABS,,if it dont,,, reset the ABS computer,,,

Look online for Chilton's manuals they if anyone may have one for your model

hi my eurovox went down i couldnt get new codes but i went into menu and oricinal codes were still there so i just pressed ok and exit and all chanels returned without changing codes give it a try and good luck
