2005 50 Hp Mecury 2 stroke out board motor issue

I have a 2005 50 Hp Mecury 2 stroke out board motor that I bought new. Ever since I bought it I have had little to no water comming out of the cooling discharge hole. I don't get any alarms and it seems to run fine. I had it back to the dealer doe to this shortly after I bout in in 2005 and they said tha there was nothing wrong with it. Should it run like this ? Thanks

Does the boat get used regulary?(I,am sure that,s spelt wrong)Put a length of line trimmer cord up the hole whilst it is running.Sometimes a small piece of 'junk' slows the flow.If the water flowing out is not hot but still warm it is a good indication that there is no overheating. The flow should still be good.Even if the dealer says otherwise.Thats why all makers put the things there.Have a look where the hose goes with the engine cowl off.I have seen one with a kink in the hose.Hope this helps.

I have a mariner Bigfoot 15 hp ser no OG 811362 it says on casing that it is 4 stroke but the guy I bought it from said it is 2 stroke how can I find this out with the use of she no

According to the ser #, your engine is 4 stroke. Does the engine have a dip stick to check oil level, a 2 stroke will not have this as it uses a fuel/oil mix. Also it will have an oil filter on 4 stroke. Hope this helps.

What year is a mercury 35hp outboard motor with serial number2491265.Is the motor 2 or 4 stroke

the serial number begins 2487558 and continues past 2491265 and as the beginning serial number denotes the year , your engine is 1969 model
it shows as a 2 stroke with auto oil injection
check the heads
if the plugs are in the flat of the head and there are no rocker covers it is 2 stroke
talk with a mercury /mariner service center

My 05 yz 85 is going in reverse. The stater and ECU is YZ 80. Everyone say is timing. Should I replace stated and ECU with 05 parts. Second motor I bolt that has done this.

Hi Montrell, your ignition timing is not set properly and I am sorry you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Bajaj but despair not for a mere $10 you can download another one. Is it 4 stroke or 2 stroke

Does it have a dipstick that indicates the amount of oil?
If it has, it is a 4 stroke and does not require an oil/fuel mix.
If it does not have a dipstick, it is a 2 stroke and will require a mix of oil and fuel.
Without knowing anything about your genset, I would think that it is a 4 stroke.
A 2 stroke motor would deliver the power too high in the rev range.

Why does my 05 yz85 goes backwards like it has reverse when i put it into gear

Hi, Chris for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. Water flow

2 Stroke engines have a very active thermostat. When you run the RPM's up then it should **** water from the hole. When the engine is running you should be able to touch the cylinder head with your hand. If it is to hot for you to touch then it is getting too hot. If you have a digital thermometer and test the cylinder head then you should see it run between 75 and 130 degrees. If it runs higher than 150 degrees then there is a definate problem with the engine.
