I have read that it is uncommon for the oil pump to go out on a 99 Bonneville SE How tru is this? How can I determine that's the problem before tearing into things? Not getting oil to upper end

The only time I have replaced oil pumps was rebuilding engines, You get a new one in the kit. And when some one wanted a high pressure pump installed. Two things kill oil pressure. The crank bearings are worn out or there is a ton off sludge build up in the engine. Either way, replace the engine or rebuild. Cleaning it won't help. If you want to check for sludge, remove a valve cover. Does it knock when you start it? Bearings.

I have a craftsman pressure washer model 580.752191 no pressure building. checked unloader valve and greased the internal parts, and it does flex (had to do it with channel locks) no pressure

do you get pressure without the hose attached ???
yes ???
bad wand
no ???
stop wasting your time as the pump is most likely bad. Ebay a new one
oh, greasing internal parts can cause them to hang up. 3and1 oil is a better choice, and pump saver should be used when pump is being stored

Troy built pressure washer won't build pressure

If the pump shaft is properly connected to the engine then you will probably need to rebuild the pump. Be sure air is purged from it before trying to use it.

If you need to replace the spring then replace the entire kit. Ball, spring and oring. Most pumps that come on the newer TRoy bilts are AR RMW pumps. the parts diagram can be found here at http://www.arnorthamerica.com/manuals/rmw-om%201006.pdf
The parts for a AR chem. injector are
480480 O-Ring
1250280 Ball

Good luck

Engine runs, but stopped pushing water

First I would start with the simple solutions.1. Check to see if your water pressure is good. 2. Check the pressure hose and tip for ubstructions. 3. Check the inet strainer and make sure you have no leaks. 4. Check the unloader valve which is located usually in the area of the pipe for your pressure hose connection. Remove and clean valve and port the valve sits in and lube with white lithium grease light coating. Try machine, if this doesn't work remove pump and inspect all the check valves and pump body for build up of gunk. If you find this you can clean with carburetor cleaner or you may have to purchase a rebuild kit. If you have problems finding the unloader valve go to jackssmallenginerepair.com and do a parts look up and you will see where this valve is. You can also purchase the rebuild kit on this site. Hope this helps.

I have a powerboss 3000 psi washer. The engine is running but it is not building pressure.

you may have a bad by-pass pressure control valve. The pump may also have bad seals inside. You can replace the pump but it is very expensive. You can buy a rebuild kit and a new by-pass control at a local supplier.Be careful not to let the motor run more than 30 to 60 seconds after you let go of the trigger. The water in the pump will get extremely hot and destroy your pump.

No water pressure coming from pump

The pump is bad and needs to be replaced. you have done all the test. On the Briggs they do have kits to rebuild the pump on your system you can just go to there website and get the rebuild kit. It is safer to go through them because they have jsut started producing the rebuild kits, and other companies have tried to copy them, but there kits are worthless. Please rate

Difficult to know from here, check all the screws see if there was a required strenght on some of the screws. You should take it apart and assemble again.
