Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I was using my camera until it fell just barely, its a sony cyber shot, the lenses were at an angle when i picked it up but then i made the mistake of trying to shove it back inside myself. everytime i turn it on it asks me to tun it off again but i can still here the lenses trying to ****. Please someone let me know if this problem is at least fixable...this camera belongs to my mother and she would be heartbroken if it couldnt be repaired.

The repair is about $150 , possibly greater than the value of the camera now I think.
Heres a try for you....
take the camera in one hand and slap it face down into the palm of your hand fairly hard. do this two or three times and turn it on. it may say turn off and on again. Do as it says and slap it again. continue with this somewhat brutal attack until it works. If after 30 goes it has not repaired itself I suggest you pack your bags for the Belchin Congo and leave no forwarding address. This is a fix used by Sony techs, so I am not trying to give you a joke fix
Let me know if you get it going if not send me a postcard at leastf from the congo for sharing this valuable fix with you ....cheers Nettiser australia

f you have done this about 30n times like ai said not 30n straight hits two or 3 at a time and turn it on and off. Then I suspect the gears are misaligned or totally bent and stripped. Not worth repairing. The option is up to you offer to buy mum a new camera, or buy your ticket to the congo. I think being honest with your mum and offering to pay for a new one will have her in tears over your honesty and manly owning up to accept respoonsibility for your accident.
You mum may attempt to make a claim on household insurance for a replacement unloess the excess is greater than the camera value, bhut iuts worth the try. Make her breakfast in bed and then break the news gently I am sure she will be understanding even though dissapointed at the loss, she has gained an honest son.

Hi,

You might want to send your camera to your Sony Authourized Dealer for some technical repair. Since it accidentally fell, there might be a part from your camera that is affected by the sudden hit causing your lense to jammed.

Thank you.

Pictures are dark blue

You can't change the lense, it will be out of focus sometimes. The focus is set electronicly at the factory. Go into the setup screen and initialize the camera and see if it will fix it.

My Sony Cyber Shot felled and now my lense wont come out

It sounds like you have jammed your lens. If you want to repair it yourself there is a guy in South Carolina who has lots of parts for all the Sony Cameras. I bought my LCD from him for $39.00 plus shipping and it works perfect. I put it in myself and saved a ton. If you buy the part from him he sends you pictures of him taking the camera apart so that you can repeat the process when you install it. I think his email is gerald.ray@aa-ark.com
