I have a mastertemp 400 connected to intellitouch control. when power is going to the heater thru controller or if I bypass the controller the same thing happens the display reads 128 then r-5 then nothing no lights on the bacvk of the board or blinking light on the IID I have checked for voltage at 24v terminal on the control board and the next thing I have been told thru tech support to do is disconnect the ribbon connection and jump pins 1 & 2 and the heater should fire and if not the control board is bad I purchased a new board got the same result and exchanged that board for another board and same thing please help
How old is the heater? Is the control fuse good? The issue you are describing is exactly what should happen if you power up the heater and DO NOT select POOL or SPA. If the membrane pad on top of the heater is not working or the user-interface board is bad then the heater will not be able to turn the heater on.
