Check for 24 volts on the main power supply board at the paired multipin connectors. Black and Red wires. You only need to take one measurement as they all tie to the same track underneath. If you have 24 volts there, look at the inverter board. Check the 8 amp fuses near where the multiwire connector attaches to the inverter board. If they check okay, check the electrolytic capacitors. If they show any singof bulging, replace them with electrolytics capable of handling high ripple current. The ones from Radio Shack are a gamble only because of the way they source their parts- in general purpose applications, those are okay; inverters are not general purpose.

If you do not have 24 volts, check the capacitors for bulging. Flip the board over and look for potentially faulty solder joints- many will look questionable- reflow them and add just a little solder for heat transfer.

If the caps on the inverter failed and the set has several thousands of hours, you might consdier changing the CCFL lamps as well.

If i unplug the 24 volt supply on backlight inverter then plug back it back in , the picture comes on for a few secs and back off again,is the problem inverter or powersupply?

The problem is the power supply it has a defective capacitor try to replace all the capacitor in the power supply, or try to look for buldge up capacitor or leaky capacitor. Because this defective capacitor will cause a low and unfiltered dc output. the tv is receiving current but cannot transfer current to other parts of your tv. Good day and best regards.

No picture no sound

Hi, it could be bad inverters or a bad power supply. I'd inspect both boards. you should have 24 volts coming from the power supply to the inverter. If you have the 24 volts, bad inverter. If you don't have the 24 volts, bad power supply.

The inverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to the backlight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty you can get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen by pointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface from very near distance. The inverter must be tested by reading voltages with a multimeter.

When turned on ,nothing comes up,no picture

there is a connection between the inverter and the powersupply. on this connector there should be a line that supplies 24 volts. if you are getting that 24 volts on a volt meter the you are most definatly looking at inveters. if you dont powersupply. just a warning if you have 24 volts and the inverter doesnt work you need a new lcd panel, which is not worth buying if you can find one

Inverter output voltage (eg. 96 volts) not if this is an issue

96 volts is low. 106 volts is low. You need to be about 110 to 120 volts optimum. How is your battery input? This is crucial for the inverter to output correctly. If it needs 24 volts DC in Then make sure it's 24 volts. 48 volts means 48 volts. Check the battery voltage and compare to inverter input requirements first.

LCD tv issue

at error code is 12 and it is your 12-volt supply. Measure from the inverter to the power supply for 24 volts pins 1,2 and 3. If you don't have the 24 volts disconnect the inverters from the power supply and see if the volts come up. If the 24 volts come up replace the inverters. If the 24 volts are still not there replace the power supply. The volts have to be steady and not going up and down if they are replace the power supply.
But if the 24 volts are there with the inverters connected 1M03 pin 3 for 3.2 volts. If the 3.2 volts are not there replace the small signal board. The only way to get a manual is to find it on line or call the manufacture.
