1996 ford probe passenger electric window no longer works.

After removing the driver side door, and replacing it i checked all electronics on the door before replacing interior panel, they worked.(locks, windows mirrors, on both sides) also i kept the wiring harness of my old door to assure it to be in working order.

i then put the interior panel back on, it was crooked, so i unplugged all the switches from the door, removed interior panel, put it back on strait and now the passenger window no longer works.

i have since removed both interior panels, checked all wiring in the doors that i have fiddled with and checked all fuses in the car several times.

i have NEVER had problems with any of the electronics before.
also, headlamp no longer works( it was iffy when i bought the car but eventually got it working, and light near ignition stays on, idk if it did before)
i assume a shorted/crossed wire somewhere, but where??

also on the passenger door i have tried running a wire from the battery to different wires in the harness of the passenger door and one of them turned my Radio off...

sorry by headlamp i didn't mean the headlamps.

i meant the light above your head, that may or may not turn on wen u open the door.
i checked the bulb, it was fine i originally had just rotated it and it worked(before the door swap) but now no longer works. bulb is still good.

NO fuses were blown.

the door was replaced because of a rollover accident.

car was fine but a sign dented up the entire driver side.
the fender was also changed out.

grounding it did not work, also power locks work on both doors(both driver and passenger switch) and power mirrors both work and always have since the swap.

You blew the fuse for your radio.you cannot put a hot wire to a ground that is why the fuse blew.you could have broken a wire connector for the door,windows etc.the headlight switch wire harness is probably melted this happens a lot on Ford products,the head light draw so much heat they melt the wire harness plug that goes on the back of the headlight switch.

check for a ground on the door and the door jam switch,see it the door switch is adjusted to complete ground.

POWER WINDOWS NOT WORKING & POWER WINDOW/REGULATOR ISSUES

It can be issue with motor itself. If it's not going up, then how its working down. But still it feels like weak window motor or is issue with power window switch. Get the voltage tested at switch and motor. Also try another working window motor at not working window side.

You have to remove the inner door panel to
access the window regulator

You remove the regulator & then the motor from it

You Tube Video will provide a visual of several
similar window motor replacement jobs

Go there-- enter your car,question ,details,etc--- then move

Thank yo for the schematic Ernesto. It says Nissan 1996, so is the 2008 still using the same schematic?

It can be issue with motor itself.If its not going up,then how its working down.But still it feels like weak window motor or is issue with power window switch.Get the voltage tested at switch and motor.Also try another working window motor at not working window side.

The relay operates all the windows. The drivers door switch is the master and has to be connected for the rest to work. It sounds like you have a bad motor or a bad connection on the motor in the drivers door.

sounds like the driver`s window switch is the problem as the passenger driver`s door switch supplies power to the passenger window motor through the passenger switch,even when controlled by the driver`s door switch

The passenger side window no longer works and is stuck about 2 inches open. I have removed the door panel - but can not force it closed - any ideas?

more likely the window regulator will need replacing. the unit tend to go bad over period of time from usage. It fairly easy to replace since you have the cover off of the door off. to replace the regulator the window has to be in down position. check ebay or junk yard for replacement; its fairly cheap to replace.

Window one operate but can operate passenger side from driver

Ford was notorious for bad switches on the drivers window control panel. But before you replace it pull the whole inner door panel off. You will have to unplug the switch panel to do it... check the connections on the window motor itself, then check and clean the connector that plugs into the inner door panel and the switch panel itself, If these dont fix it check an auto boneyard for a replacement switch... AAlso if you are savy with automotive electrical, CAREFULLYcheck the motor operation with a jumper wire replacing the switch to ensure it isnt a bad motor... most likely it is the switch but Murphy's law has a whole subset of rules for automotive electrical applications...

VW Polo 2001 - Electric Windows wont open from Drivers side..

I removed all 3 switches from driver and passenger door, which is really easy with a flat head screw driver. took them completely apart, very carefully, with a small screwdriver out of a christmas cracker. put them back together again and 2 switches started working, so I put 1 in the drivers side and 1 in the passengers side so now my drivers door window opens and I lean over to open the passenger door. cool, no money spent...yet ;o)

Hi Hawkeye1973

The first thing you should do is swap the passenger switch in place of the drivers switch and then see if the window now works. If so then you need a new drivers side switch. It may be clicking but it may not be working.

If it still doesn't work then you need to get your hands on a volt meter and get back to me.

You need to remove the drivers door panel and investigate the window mechanism, it sounds asthough its sticking.
