Why does printer not know that paper tray is full

I don't actually know the answer to this one, but mine occasionally will not the tray has paper in it if (1) it is TOO full (I always put in a little less than capacity) or (2) if there are only a few sheets left.

My printer wont recognize paper

Remove all of the paper from the tray and shine a flashlight into the printer. Look for any torn pieces of paper or other debris that could be blocking the paper sensor.

Pull the paper guides back as far as they will go, then reload the paper tray. Push the paper guides until they are tight against the paper on all sides. If the paper guides are loose or not properly adjusted, the printer may not sense that the paper is in place.

Look inside the printer if you have a unit with a single paper tray. Locate the print rollers, then look for a small plastic flag that moves up and down when the paper feeds into the printer. Jiggle this paper flag until it moves freely. If the paper flag is out of place the printer may not recognize that there is paper in the tray.

Pull each tray out of the printer carefully if you have a unit with multiple trays. Find the print rollers and the paper flag. Jiggle the paper flag until it moves up and down freely, then replace the tray.

My printer keeps asking me to Load Mp Feeder letter even after i checked if the papers were lined up properly in tray one. what do i do now?

Hi. Here are some tips to remedy the problem. First, check if the printer is able to detect the exact paper size placed in the trays. Second, check the autosize pins on the left side of the tray and make sure they are not broken. If not broken and the printer is not recognizing the exact paper size (ex. universal instead of letter or legal), try to re-adjust the paper guide, if currently on letter, set it to legal if the printer recognizes the change. Powercycle the device after the change. If still not resolved, printer needs to be serviced recommending the autosize card, cable (if there is any) and the system board. Hope this helps.

HP 1510 printer

Occasionally you will have to replace the print cartridges and when you do it is always a good idea to align the cartridges to ensure optimum quality.
1Verify that the printer is turned on. If the printer is not on, check to ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet, then press and release the power button one time. Wait for a few seconds while the printer powers up.
Step2Lift the paper output tray. Load the letter or A4 unused plain white printer paper into the paper input tray. Lower the paper output tray. Step3Double left click the "HP Solution Center" icon to open the application. Single left click the "Help and Support" tab. Single left click the "Printer Toolbox" link. Single left click the "Align Print Cartridges" option to open the "Alignment Page" window. Single left click "Align." Step4Wait while the printer prints an alignment page. Examine the alignment page carefully and select the option that appears to be most correctly aligned. Select that option by single left clicking the corresponding option on the drop-down choices in the alignment window. Step5Single left click the "Done" button once you have entered all appropriate options. Wait while the printer prints a confirmation page. hope this helps pls appreciate with a fixyaa rating
