Generally the connectors are not interchangable, BUT make sure that the batteries are the same model. Also, they might be CHEAP knock offs that are faulty.

How to fix the display on cordless philips phone

As indicated in previous posts, cordless phones often have LCD problems due to being in the charger housing too long. Remove the phone from charger when fully charged. Next time feel how the phone heats up after leaving the phone in charger for too long. it will be more cost effective to buy new handset as replacing the LCD.

hope this helps

I have an older Uniden PowerMax 5.8 and the handsets are old and one is held together with tape. The second hand set was rained on yesterday. It was sorta working but I worried i would short it out if I...

Hello, Terrie.

Sorry for the delay in responding - time zone difference.

First, let's see if we can fix your handset (from Uniden):

1. Remove the battery cover and leave it off for ventilation.

2. Remove the battery pack by disconnecting.

3. Leave the battery cover off and the battery pack disconnected for at least 3 days.

4. Once completely dry, reconnect the battery pack and the battery cover.

5. Recharge the handsset's battery pack for 20 hours in the base unit before using the phone. IMPORTANT: You must unplug the telephone line while recharging the battery pack
to avoid charge interruption.

I believe there is a way to export your phone book to another handset, but not without reviving your original phone. Unlike a cell phone, there is no memory card to remove and transfer.

Let me know what happens.

Hope this helps.

I have a uniden 5.8GHz cordless phone with 3 handsets. But now 2 of the handsets do not work. The base lights up to show it is charging and when I pick up the phone, the handset says...

You may have a problem with your battery. Usually the rechargeable battery goes bad on those units. Swap the battery from the working handset to one of the non working ones.

My phone isnt coming on but the base is on charge

More often than not, this is simply due to dead batteries - do you know how old the batteries in the handset are? if they are quite old it might be worthwhile replacing them with the correct type of batteries (please ensure they are the correct type otherwise you can cause a fire putting non-rechargable batteries in a rechargeable phone) as this usually fixes the issue.

One other question, has the handset been dropped lately? This is another usual problem for a handset to stop working so ask whoever uses it and hopefully you will get a truthful answer :)

thx, if this helps please rate :)

It won't charge the rechargeable batteries anymore

I have the same problem , the only logical reason i could think of is that the charger connecting to the base station has malfunctioned .

Problem with batteries

With what kind of batteries you've renewed? Are they rechargeable?
