SOURCE: Game won't play on my new computer.

Are you sure the game is designed for Windows version earlier than XP? You can try compatibility mode.

  1. Right-click executable file of the game.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Pick Compatibility tab.
  4. Check Run this program in compatibility mode for:.
  5. Pick version of Windows that the game was designed to work on.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Run the game.

SOURCE: Cannot play Oregon Trail 3rd edition after install

Since you own a copy of the game, it is legal for you to go and download a No-CD crack. There should be many online, simply go to google and type in the Name of the game and No-CD crack. You should be able to find one, they also typically come with instructions on how to use them.

SOURCE: bought still life 2, have windows xp...game won't

Hello mis_74,

First things first What type of Disc Drive are you using ?
CD Rom
CD/DVD Drive

Requirements are that you use a CD/DVD Rom Drive.

Next make sure the disc itself is not smudged with finger prints ect. Also check for scratches on the disc. Making sure it is clean ensures that the laser is correctly reading the disc.

Double check and see if other disc's DVD's and CD's will play in the same drive to ensure the drive itself is not bad.

Post back if you are still having problems after verifying that these things are not causing the issue.

Thank you for choosing Fixya!

Can the pc game liberty kids be played on windows 7

I was able to play Liberty's Kids on a Windows 7 64 bit laptop. First I installed the game, then ran the Intel Indeo codec installer from Install\indeocodec. Didn't have to set any compatibility options for either.

Please make Oregon trail work with window vista it's one of the classic best ever game that need to keep up to date

First make sure your have downloaded all automatic updates to Vista. You may find that a game that was not compatible will now load. If that doesn't work, try a patch for the game. http://askville.amazon.com/OREGON-TRAIL-VERSION-GAME-COMPATIBLE-WINDOWS-VISTA/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=13345235
If all else fails, you can purchase newer versions here: http://www.kidssoftwareoutlet.com/Oregon-Trail-s/144.htm&Click=6972

Oregon trail 5th edition vista

Hi,
Please check the compatibility of the game with Vista, and am not sure if this compatible at first place. Secondly you can run programs or games in XP mode by right clicking on the exe file of the game, goto properties and select compatibility, and then select to run in XP mode. Hope this helps

No visible characters on Oregon Trail 4

You could try to playing it compatibility mode. To do this, right-click the game, click Properties, then click the Compatibility tab and check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility for:", then choose what to run it under. This may or may not work, but hopefully it will.

Oregon Trail 4th Edition won't install on xp

You better dig that old Win98 machine out of the closet and fire it up. Oregon Trail doesn't want to install properly even when you run the install and set up in Compatibility mode (95 or 98). There is some issue with the version of DirectX it wants to use as well.
