Formating issue Hi I have a Sansa m240. I'm not able to delete the files from it. I have already deleted the files through windows media player and now there is no files showing in media player but did exists the space. When I tried to format it its showing the message "windows was not able to complete the format" . the player is now playing all the songs at a time, I mean, when I turn on Sansa it will play all the songs first word. Please advice how to format or delete the existing music files

Good luck!

connect your M240 to your computer via the usb, go to My Computer and you should see it listed there as M240. Double click to open and delete the files you want to remove.

Or you can use windows media player .. by going to FILE, OPEN and choose the M240 (will located under My Computer).

PROBLEME OF MEMORY.

My Sandisk Sansa m240 lost all the songs and then I could not delete them. I was able to laod up new songs, but there was no spare memory. I was able to fix this issue by re-formating.

Using windows explorer right click on the "Sandisk sansa M240" and click "format".

Now working OK.

Can't delete songs

Go to Windows Media Player under the Sync tab, over on the far left should be the name of the player, click on it and find the name of the song by album title, artist, or whatever, click on the title and click delete and you should be able to delete any song you like without deleting them all

How can I format my Sansa m240 using Windows Media Player?

First, plug in your device. Close the prompting window asking what you would like to do.

Next (assuming you are on Microsoft Windows), go to Start>My Computer.

Scroll down until you see your device displayed as Sansa m240.

Double click on the icon.

Next, right click on the icon that comes up and choose Format...
It will give you a warning saying that it will delete all data (Which shouldn't matter, since you have apparently already deleted all your music files.) and settings.

Click OK. It should begin to format the device.

It should say "Format Complete" or something to that degree when the formatting process is complete.

(This I cannot seem to get to work on MY computer, but it should work for yours.

By the way, how did you manage to delete your songs without formatting? I need to do this!)

Thanks, and Good Luck!

M240 freezes all d time

I would format the device to remove all of the data and start over.

You can FORMAT the device thru My Computer>Device Name (m240)>Right Click and select FORMAT.
