To record a message, hold the ANNC button and follow the prompts.Yours also looks similar to mine.If there is a Clock button, hold it down to open the options menu.Use the button on each side of the bottom middle button to change the number. When that option is good, press the clock button again and change with the same buttons. When you get to the end,it should auto read everything you set.If anything is not as I mentioned, please comment here with all your button labels and I will reply ASAP.Greg

Phone not working

CL means, you need to set the MIN, HOUR, DAY/CHECK. These buttons are on the back of the unit. You need to start with MIN, then HOUR and last DAY/CHECK. Hold the MIN button down to start the set up. You release the button on the correct selection. The button is slow to react, you might need to circle around to get the correct timing to release your figure from the button. The same with the other buttons. I was very glad to stop the flashing of the CL and number of calls on the answering machine. (my house lost power and all the clocks needed to be reset, this was the biggest clue. So CL either means CLOCK or CLUE.)

GE CORDLESS PHONE ANSWERING MACHINE

The flashing CL means the clock on the phone has not been set. You can try to set the clock using the Menu option on the handset, but the easier option is to simply call the phone from another number. When this happens, the base of the phone gets a CID time and date stamp from the time calling, and the clock is set. You'll notice that the CL is no longer flashing after the phone has received the call. You don't even have to answer the phone- just let it ring once or twice and you're all aces.

Flashing C

Flashing C means your machine is in clock mode. Try resetting the clock. This should resolve your problem. I speak from experience, because I just had the same thing happen to my machine.
