What sort of hub is it? The one that runs in oil is the Alfine - the others are greased, in my experience, although there is an dealer-approved means of refreshing the grease in a Nexus hub by dunking the internals into oil.
The Alfine 11 speed needs 25cc of Shimano SG-5700 oil assuming all the old oil has been drained first. This is according to a Koga Miyata manual for a bike that uses this hub.

The 6 speed revoshift gear wiring is in need of repair and we aquired the bike with no owners mannual. can ya point me it the right direction? Thank ya. jen

One of these should get you going... lists a lot of Revo Shifters will describe some of the techniques and tools required (they sell tools).

Since you'll need to go to a bike shop to buy the right shifter and brake cables anyway you should have them show you some of the fine points and ask about the special tools (cable cutter, for example) required. You may find that unless you intend to become a regular self-service bicycle mechanic the cost of equipping for that is prohibitively expensive and the occasional paid repair or tune-up would be worthwhile. In fact, a tune-up would address your problem and others of which you may be unaware.

I have an AVANTI Blade 8 bicycle that has the shifter: Shimano Nexus Revo 8-Speed w/ Shimano Outer Casing. It has only done a maximum of 300 kilometres. Problem - The hub is not engaging. When i turn the...

This is a solution I strongly recommend you take into a bicycle shop. It will either be a problem they can fix (needs to be seen to properly diagnose) or a possible warranty issue which they would be the ones to take care of anyway.

The problem could be anything from an adjustment, which is far to complicated to explain with those hubs up to a broken part.

I need a repair manual for a fleetwing 3 speed bicycle.

Never heard of a fleetwing, what brand is it? But, for your 3 speed it is probably Sturmey Archer or Shimano and unless you know how to take a 3 speed hub apart and reassemble, plus have the right tools, I would not attempt it. There are about 88 little parts inside that hub.

I have just bought a Giant Expression and need a 3 spd manual

This is the Shimano tech sheet page. You can select the part number in question. The Shimano reference material is well detailed and diagrammed.

Hope this helps out,

How to assemble the shimano nexus three speed cable to the nexus hub? Looks like you just push on and tighten the screw , seems to simple. Need someone else to advise me. thanks

Although i have not worked on a Nexus hub, Shimano's tech sheet page has your info. The Nexus drivetrain is found on the fourth category on the left (Comfort), and the hubs are 2/3 of the way down the page under "SG Internally Geared Hubs". i was not sure which one was yours (there are quite a few!), so i figured it best to just pass on the site to you.

Hope this helps,
