Why is this EPSON STYLUS C88+ "Dura Brite Ultra" printer printing the wrong colors?

You have a corrupt or incorrect printer driver. Completely remove all references to the current driver from the computer. Un installing is not enough as the registry references remain. Then install the driver(s) again.

I have been using an epson stylus color 880 for years. One day it would not print. Replaced the cartridges and still will not print. It goes through the printing procedures but nothing shows up on...

The print head nozzles may be clogged. From the Utility section found in the EPSON printer driver, clean the print heads by performing a head cleaning followed by printing a nozzle check pattern. A head cleaning and nozzle check must be performed as a cycle. After printing a nozzle check, examine the printed dot pattern. Each staggered horizontal and straight vertical line should be complete, with no gaps in the dot pattern. If there are gaps in the dot pattern, continue with another cycle. Perform up to 3 cycles if necessary. If the nozzle check is not printing completely, and if the head cleanings do not help the nozzle check pattern to print completely, try replacing the ink cartridge. Any ink cartridge installed into the printer must have a blue label on top of it. If the blue label has been removed from the ink cartridge, do not install the cartridge. Using an ink cartridge, which does not have the blue label on it, may damage the printer. Caution: If you have already installed a cartridge which is missing the blue label, or if a previously installed ink cartridge was missing its blue label at the time it was installed, and now head cleanings do not help the nozzle check pattern to print completely, your printer may require service and you should contact the EPSON Connection for further assistance.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

I have a Epson stylus the print has white lines on the letters as well as the photos. i have cleaned done head cleaning several times alignment no use it still prints the same

It seems that the print head is clogged.
You can choose to live with it by print at slowest speed (best photo or things like that) Or you may try to fix, however, it requires some skills.

1. Check if what print head was clogged: Print a test page. 2. Look at the test page, identify incomplete lines. what are there colors? For instant, blue line: clogged on blue head 3. Remove the ink tanks, and pump alcohol through the clogged print head 4. Do head cleaning to see if it works
If it does not work, try B method. Please only do this if you have experience on disassemble a printer, or you have nothing to lose, because incorrect handling parts from printers will kill it forever.
1. Remove the ink tanks,. 2. Remove all the cables connect to cartridge 3. Remove the cartridge 4. Boil some pure water ( Aquafina of Pepsi is the best) until small bubbles appear 5. Dip the head of cartridge ONLY in boiling water for 2 minutes. 6. Put all things together.

Incorrect & missing colors

I would try purchasing new ink - especially if the printer and inks has been sitting unused.

The new ink cartridge is not dispensing its color.

Have you tried a cleaning cycle? If not, try one (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select head clean). Now run a nozzle check (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select nozzle check). Is there any sign of ink on the paper. Try up to three
cleaning cycles. If ink is now flowing, but not yet perfectly, don't carry out any more cleaning cycles. Just leave the printer for 24 hours (to allow any air in the print head to disperse). Then repeat the cleaning cycle/wait process. It may take a while to restore a perfect nozzle check print.

If these actions produce no positive results, or if you have already done lots of head cleans with no result, and you're sure you have a good ink cartridge properly installed, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer
on, and as soon as the print head moves pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way.

Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then try a head clean again. Repeat this process again if necessary.

If still nothing, it looks like you may have a failed cyan print nozzle I'm afraid, or some other internal problem. This will require checkout by a Technician. Make sure you compare the cost of repair with the cost of a new printer!

Epson Stylus Photo R800 Print Head Nozzles ??

Don't use nozzles clean function, besides ink consuming it can cause damages that cannot be fixed: black lines on the back side of the page that will be permanent. Instead put two photo paper together (2x260 gr) and push the two papers together into the printer while printing a motive including many colors. Do so a couple of times and the clogg usually disappears. Good luck! jonk

Epson Stylus CX5000 blurry or smudged printing

epson uses pigmented ink and compatibles use dyes and thus if the paper is not of good quality then you can have this problem.

do the following

change the paper and try.

As there will be ink in the head and the ink feed tubes , print some 10 -15 copies of all color prints so that the original ink starts to get into the head and then the paper.

this should solve your problem

Also use your printer every 2 -3 days if you dont have any prints then give a noozle check and then switch off the printer. This will avoid the printer from doing a head clean very time you switch on the printer and also the ink will give you more output as there is less amount of head cleaning
