when you hit the back button and the picture button at the same time it takes a screen shot. mine was randomly taking pictures in my pocket, it was so frustrating that i eventually just opened the back up and pulled off the shiny picture button :) my problem is when i close the keyboard the back light comes on but when i open the phone it turns off. HELP!!
Poor design and I believe this requires a recall. The problem is the
fact that when the phone is closed everyone would think that all the
internal buttons become locked, WRONG I found out that all is locked
except the power button. So with the env3 all you need to do is unlock
the phone by pressing OK (how hard is that, it's the easiest button to
push), then pinch and hold down the top left corner of the phone (where
the power button exist underneath) you will notice the sound of a
button push (which is the sound of the power button underneath being
pushed) and bam, you phone turns off. It is more easy to turn your
phone off this way then to use the button in front to turn it off. Like
most of us, we don't worry about the phone in our pockets or purse, or
even in our phone case clipped on our belts and many times we found our
env3 unlocked with random numbers on it. That doesn't bother me, it
happens with cell phones, what really bothers me is the fact that the
power button internally still works when it is closed and all it takes
is for you to lean against something or have it in your pocket and
pinch that one corner and you will never know that your phone turned
this happens to mine too! it has already turned off 8 times today. I started messing with things on the phone...pressing on buttons..opening it and closing it quickly...and stuff like that and I think I found that when you push hard on the middle of the battery..it just turns off. (try pushing on it and checking that). I don't know how to fix it but I do want to know if that is why yours turns off like that too....
Totally I have the same issues. I have had the ENV 1 ENV 2 (three of them) and VW says they have no idea what the issues if so they have been giving me new phones.....at least they gave me two new ones. I have also heard the the ENV 3 does the same thing
I had a similar problem where not only was it dialing the contact list randomly but also just entering keystrokes on its own (like it was possessed). Turns out there was a short in the top part of the phone (i.e. LCD screen part) due to water damage. The only thing the tech and I could come up with is that I used my phone when outside/jogging/exercising and sweat could have gotten in there. I had not spilled any liquid or drinks on the phone or dropped it in the washer....
