Question about Jenn-Air JCD2295K Stainless Steel Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

JCD2389 Condenser Fan Motor keeps shutting off. All I do is touch one of the blades and starts back up. I have to keep pulling it away from the wall cabinet and touch the fan at least twice everyday otherwise the heat build up is intense. I'm wondering, is it the motor it's self or possibly a wiring fault?

I recomment you replace the condensor fan motor soon to prevent damage to your refrigerator. It is worn out. Thanks Sea Breeze

Isn't cooling, doors feel hot to touch

check the condenser fan motor,pull out the machine from the wall and then remove the back bottom panel,you'll see the condenser fan down there,make sure it's blowing,also check the condenser coil,it should be cleaned out at least once a year.next time you write it would help sending the model number and brand name.good luck.if it is the fan you can stick a regular house fan back there to keep the compressor cool until you get a new fan motor,keep the bottom panel off and just point the fan at the compressor.hope this helps.

Sometimes get a loud screeching noise from the condenser fan motor. Also seems to be loudr than usual. Motor part no. is:S070. Can a "do it yourself" guy replace the unit?

If this is wall/window unit, you can do it but it can be tricky. the fan in window units usually has 2
shafts on either side , it drives fan for both the condenser and evaporator. You basically have to pull the top off, loosen set screw on both blades, remove some screws to move back condenser coil(gently, don't kink tubing) similar process on evap side. Then mount new fan motor, wire it in put fan blades back on in proper position, reassemble unit, test run on bench.

I moved my refrigerator to vacum (Frigidaire model PLHT217TAK 2002) and since then the warm air stopped coming out from the front bottom vent. It also stopped making noise, it seems to want to start but...

the condenser fan motor is what blows the air around down there,pull out the machine remove the back bottom panel and you'll see the fan,check it to see if something is stuck in the fan blade keeping it from spinning,do this right away,if the fan isn't blowing you can cook your compressor,if something is wrong with the fan motor you can leave the bottom panel off and stick a regular fan back there to keep the compressor cool until you fix the fan motor.hope this helps

Refrigerator in center between refrig. and freezer is very hot

most likely problem is a failed condenser fan motor. pull your refrig away from the wall and then remove rear cardboard cover. you will see a fan motor that cools the compressor and condenser coils. heck to see if the fan is jammed with insulation or other objects. if the motor needs to be replaced you can place a portable house fan blowing int the rear to keep components cool until unit is repaired. thanks peyton

Freezer cuts on every 3-4 minutes. stays on 8-10 seconds. some thawing occuring

If I understand you correctly the compressor is short cycling. The more it does this the worse it gets by causing the compressor to overheat. Sometimes the problem is because the condenser fan or evaporator fan being defective. Pull away from wall and remove cover over compressor unplug and feel top of compressor and if too hot to keep hand there keep unplugged but do examine the evaporator and condenser fan to eliminate them as a reason. The most likely reason is start relay and or start/run capacitor and sometimes a worn out compressor.

Overload relay click here=> 67002527
Run capacitor click here=> 65889-4
Location Click Here=> MBB1952GR Compressor Components
Parts in that photo are marked as 10 overload/relay, 11 is the run capacitor and 3 being condenser fan motor. Condenser and evaporator fan motors do not always stop completely when bad so make sure both run while compressor is running. If this has been helpful please rate if you have more questions please let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

Makes loud noise while cooling. sounds like fan is hitting something. a/c is 4 years old, in the wall, problem just began July 2009. Lowering fan speed, or energy saver setting do not help.

That's because it probably is.Shut it off.Pull it out.Set it on a table by the outlet or a/c housing.Plug it into the same outlet.Keep fingers away from the blade and visually watch it.

My guess is the fan blade loosened on the shaft and needs to readjusted and tightened.Or the wires need to be moved out of the way of the blade and tie down(not on the fan blade either foo!!!).

Whirlpool Fridge Making a rattling noise

There are 2 areas it could be in....The upper area where the evaporator fan is....or the lower area where the condenser fan is..
If it is in the freezer...when you open the door there should be a button that the door connects with that you can hold in manually to make the fan engage..and listen for the noise..the odds are if it were ice build up....your thumping the fridge would not make it stop ..since the thumping would not remove the Ice...it would continue to build up and the fan would eventually stop completely and everything would warm up. It could be a loose stap that holds evaporator lines in place or a motor mount that is loose ..

Or it could have to do with the condenser fan..where the compressor is.The compressor and condenser coil are located underneath the freezer section of your refrigerator. There is some tubing connecting the compressor to the condenser coil. There is also a condenser fan to cool the condenser. To access these parts the refrigerator has to be pulled away from the wall. If you pull the refrigerator out go slowly and watch the tubing that connects from the water valve on the back of the refrigerator to the water cut off at the wall.
Remove the power from the refrigerator. Remove the lower panel on the rear of the refrigerator. Look inside for anything loose. Locate the condenser fan motor and blade. These are the areas to stay away from when power is applied. Plug the refrigerator back in being careful to avoid the condenser fan motor and blade. Wear gloves to prevent burning yourself on the hot refrigerant lines and try touching tubing and lightly pushing and pulling to see if you can cause or stop the noise.
Generally a rattle or hum is caused by a refrigerant line touching part of the cabinet or base pan. If it is not repaired it may rub a hole in the refrigerant line causing the refrigerant to leak out. If you don't feel comfortable trying to correct it, you should schedule service and let a technician repair the refrigerator.

I hope this helps...please rate me ...thanks The Fang

Kenmore fridge not getting cold

first thing to heck would be the condenser fan motor which is located int the compressor compartment pull the refrig away form the wall remove cardboard cover and inspect the fan motor that you will see. check for obstruction or if the fan motor is seized. if this motor fails it will cause the compressor to run extremely hot then shut off on internal motor protector. if you determine the motor is bad you can place a house fan behind unit blowing on compressor area to keep unit working until you get it repaired.
Thanks Peyton

Blower motor location for 2000 Caravan

The motor is located just under the glove box on the passenger side. I remove the glove box then the panel below the glove box. I also go ahead and pull back the carpet and the padding under the motor. It is held in place by 3-4 bolts that take a 7-8 millimeter socket. I use a swivel extension for the back bolts. The motor with the fan blade attached is a tight fit, just keep wiggling and pulling it should come out. Try to remove the old moter without cracking the fan blade, because sometimes the replacement motor doesn't come with a blade

GE side by side refrigerator

Try pulling toe plate at bottom front and clean the condenser coils. If they are plugged, it will cause this to get hot. If you can't see coils in front remove back panel and clean coils there.. Give it time after cleaning to see if it helped. If no change, remove back panel and check to see if fan is turning when the compressor is on.
Also check for something caught in fan blade, such as a dead mouse or a dead coupon. If fan isn't turning, may need condenser fan motor. If still need help, give us a model number. Found in refrigerator compartment at top on side walls.
