The discoloration problem is due to the near by magnetic field appliances like speakers which are very near to monitors ...
so what you have to do is just keep some distance to the monitor from the speakers and other magnetic appliances and then press menu button & just give degauss..

I have 17 inch ctx color monitor. our kids have disturbed its fore buttons. only the downward button and esc works. now the problem is that the kids have blacken the monitor display and way exists to...

The kids may have gotten bits of food or candy from their fingers into the button holes. First try using a dry scrubbing brush around the buttons to get out any particles. If that does not work use a damp cloth (damp not wet) and wipe around the buttons. Candy will stick and takes a little work to moisten and remove. There is no way to repair the button as they are in sealed plastic modules.
Recommend putting the VCR and CD/DVD player out of reach....

Hi,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since the lines are causing visual display, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself. in other not to complicate issues.

Color bit depthe is not the monitor problem, it is the video card problem, make sure you have correct video card driver installed.

Dear Sir, My monitor is SAMSUNG 753DFX (17" White), my monitor green color problem (green color loss),pl. help me and give me solution. I am electronics familier. Thanking You, Arif

try to use windows color management scheme under properties of your graphic card setting. you can manually override the green red blue and gamma settings. In this way may be availing of desired result is possible.
Either way if you're familier with electronics, repair including possibility of shock hazard costs you more than the price of a new flat monitor.

Issue with my 17" Viewsonic VA1716w LCD monitor

If all the buttons on the front don't work I would beleive it was a cable that is not connected correctly. I've seen things like this happen on otherwise perfectly good equipment. It's probably an easy fix however, monitors have enough power to KILL YOU (dead not a little bit very dead) if your not sure what your doing find someone who is most things I encourage you to open up and play with but not monitors. (did I mention you could die)

Be careful
