SOURCE: Printing

Do not continue this way, you are sure to ruin your paper sensor or the like. Most probably you have a paper jam inside near the carriage or roller. Open at front, check inside for paper jam.

SOURCE: Printer 2480- my printer is pulling paper only on right side

Try this :

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

SOURCE: paper feed problem-wont go through- crumpling up as it tries to go through

You probably have a piece of paper stuck at the place where it's crumpling. Take a good look and carefully extract it. It may be small, so look hard.

SOURCE: document comes out crumpled

Paper is not feeding through your printer properly.

First thing you should do is to remove the paper from your paper tray. After removing, place the paper back in the tray, making sure it sits evenly within the tray. There should be no part of that is higher than any other.

Next, carefully close the paper tray, making sure that no part of the paper catches when closing. Do this by feel. If you feel any resistance when sliding the tray shut, pull the tray open and try again.

If this does not solve the problem, open the printer doors and take a look inside the printer. There might be something small impeding the paper's smooth movement through your printer.

Finally, take a few seconds to clean the paper pulls (the little rubber wheels you see inside your printer). If these are dirty, the paper will not be pulled through the printer in an even way. It could pull off track causing one of the sides of the paper to rub against the printer. This is what causes the crumpling. To clean the paper pulls, just use a damp cloth and gently wipe them. Good luck!

Faulty paper feed

There is a sticker or piece of paper inside the printer. TO fix this, some parts needs to be removed so the foreign object obstructing the paper path can be removed from the printer.

Paper get jammed in the automatic feeder on top of my printer

3 possibilities.
1 If you use this macine to copy labels, there may well be a small piece of a label stuck in the paper path on the crumpled side. Or a small bit of paper.
2, the paper pickup on the crumpled side is 'polished', and no longer feeding the paper at the same time as the uncrumpled side. They can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol. Though that is a temporary fix and the paper pickups should be replaced if cleaning fixes the issue.
3 The fuser film has a tear in it on the crumpled side you need to rule out 1 & 2 before going to three again replaceable but a bit more difficult

CLP 300 crumpling lower right hand side of paper

There is a foreign object in the paper feed path. It could be anything from a paper clip or staple through to an insect (or worse). It will definitely be on the side where the crumpling occurs. Try feeding a strip of card or thin flexible plastic backwards through the feed mechanism. A laminated sheet of paper can also be effective for this.
