P.a. stands for public address, you need a pa horn for this. F.m. is for frequency modulation alot of ten meter radios offer this now it's mostly line of site communication if you have somebody else with fm though it sounds alot better. A.m. is amplitude modulation it's the standard way cb's have communicated since the beginning.I hope this helps.Good luck. Dan

Fix my connex 3400 hb sideband button

Hi there, if you are talking about the Connex CX 3400 HP there is no sideband or SSB on this radio. It is only AM and FM 10 meter Ham radio. Many people do modify these radios to include the 11 meter frequencies which is the CB band. Maybe knowing the actual bands and their frequencies will help some too this radio does have 6 different bands ranging from (Band A. 28.015 thru 28.455) (Band B. 28.145 thru 28.585) (Band C. 28.115 thru 28.555) (Band D. 28.085 thru 28.525) (Band E. 28.055 thru 28.495) (Band F. 28.025 thru 28.465.) I hope this will help you. Bob

On the Connex CX-3300HP what is the Band knob for. The three positions are D/A E/B F/C.

The Band knob moves the frequency coverage from 25.615 and 28.305
The Hi-Low switch determines the lowest frequencies and highest.
Here is your owners manual.
