Does the problem clear on it's own or do you have to take an action such as a logout/login? Do you have the problem when using any other OS? (win xp, Linux?)

1.Lift up the keyboard cover and put it in front of top case. Disconnect the LED cable and launch board cable then take the keyboard away.
2.Remove 2 screws (M2.5*3)then lift up the keyboard and lay it in fron of top case then disconnect the keyboard FPC. now take the keyboard away.
**Removing the keyboard cable.
1. Use a flexible connector tool to unlock the cable connector on both ends
2.Carefully pull out the keyboard cable with a pair of tweezers

Eee 1005ha keyboard and touchpad suddenly freezes at random times

Mine does the same. I don't know what it is. It's not that it's frozen up because every program I'm running continues to run and when I press the power off button it brings up the choices to turn off restart or stand by.

Keyboard locks randomly after login

Sound like you might have a virus - try running antivirus program - such as Avast or Antivir - which is free.
If that doesn't work, then try doing a System Restore - if that doesn't work, then do a System Recovery complete re-install - but back up your pictures and documents first as you will lose everything and you'll be starting over again fresh.

The Lenovo Y430 occasionally gets a blue screen. OS is Windows XP. The computer is fairly new. Could this be a software problem or a hardware issue? Would an upgrade to Vista solve the problem?

you are right but you can try this go to start - run type msconfig press enter.disable all start up items except synaptics and wireless if you do see any.reboot your computer.check if it happens.if it does then it`s hard ware problem.could be RAM,graphics card or any other accessory attached to mother board.take care.

New Lenovo Y430 keyboard and touchpad does not work

Finally, I decided and insisted on being given a replacement for another defective Y430 unit. I am just so glad that the problematic 2 units were discovered before the 7-days allowance for return/replacement of defective units. I now have this third unit of Lenovo to replace the first two defective ones. I do hope this works well and will not make me do a fourth trip to the seller for any returns/ replacements/complaints again. :)

HP Pavilion DV1000 touchpad and keyboard freezes

sometimes its a hardware driver software and OS driver software conflict on touchpad. if after OS installation the touchpad is already detected, no need to install the touchpad driver. try disabling the touchpad driver you installed. hope this helps
