Question about Lexmark X5470 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My lexmark x5470 will not turn on after disconnect power and reconnecting. Is there something else I can do?

Is the USB cable back in place? Try holding down the #9 button and the select button while you are powering up the unit. If that fails try pressing the select button after powering up the unit. I had a HP all in one 7170 and during a WILD lightning show I got hit through the phoneline. Zap "All Gone!" I called HP support and they gave me these two steps to try, hope one works for you, if not it's time to go shoppin.

An error message reads printer cannot communicate with this computer. I have checked the firewaall, the installation and it makes copies so its a connection problem

I cannot use the scan function on my X5470--specifically, to scan documents into PDF format. "Cannot retrieve Application List" is the messge shown. How do I repair this function?


Make sure the Lexmark OCR scan software is installed on your computer. The software allows you to scan your documents to PDF file. The software is only available on the installation disc that came with your Lexmark printer. If you don't have the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

Lexmark x5470 used to work fine and stopped recognizing printing for the windows vista ?


Try to disconnect your printer from your Vista computer. Reboot your computer. Then, unplug and replug your printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect your printer into the computer. Doing this usually fixes minor communication issues.
