Question about Acer Aspire 3680 Laptop
After updating drivers on a D-Link DIR-615 Router in my home - and also updating a driver on my Gateway notebook (with built in wireless card Realtek RTL8185 54M) - the Gateway is not able to connect to either LAN or Wireless. Same notebook connects to both LAN and wireless in my office. Other notebooks connect to LAN and wireles at home OK. I tried to roll back the driver on Realtek, but it said not available. When I tried to install an older driver - it said the one being used is newer and will remain.
The dlinks have a tendency to reset to factory settings when you do a firmware upgrade. Connect to the router using a wired connection or using another computer, confirm the settings are what you want, not the defaults. NEVER use the default wireless name (in this case: dlink), always change it to something nobody around you is using!
