Atapi.sys is also a popular infection target for many Trojans. You may get stop codes of 0x00000007A, 0x00000008 and especially:
0x0000000A (0x00000000,0x00000002,0x00000001,<anything>)
which requires a virus scan like AVG 8.5/9.0 to fix since the infected driver has already modified many other files in your system.. (Remove the drive and put it in another machine and then scan it.)

It is most likely a hard drive problem, but it may be a different hardware problem also. "The Stop 0x7A message indicates that a page of kernel data was not found in the paging (virtual memory) file and could not be read into memory. This might be due to incompatible disk or controller drivers, firmware, or hardware."

Click Start >> Run >> Then enter sfc /scannow

After this completes

Click Start >> Run >> Then enter chkdsk /r

After this completes

Click Start >> Run >> Then enter chkdsk /f

Let me know how you go..

Drive Smart Read Error / Kernel Data Inpage Error/1000-0143

have you restarted the PC? If you have and it works, then this error is NOT too much to worry about... As long as the drive is Booting for now you can copy off your files etc to say a USB drive... You do not need to copy the programs etc, usually you simply copy over your "My Documents" or "Users" directories. As all files saved are generally "Under" there if you have any, anywhere else of course you need to get them as well. Now the drive may NOT be totally "Ruined" it may simply require a Re-Format, and then replace the Operating System. After which you can restore your settings. Below is a Microsoft link that tells you how.www.microsoft.com › ... › Computer Setup and Maintenance -
Either with the "Old" drive or a "New" drive. set BIOS to boot from CD/DVD and put the Windows Install DVD in the drive, boot of this and follow instructions, when you come to the place to partition & Format, do this and do a full NTFS format... after which your system will be installed and you can load your drivers and programs again Also before doing all this go to the manufacturers web site and download ALL drivers for your model PC & Operating System. You need to do this so you can install the drivers for all your Video, Sound, WiFi network etc. after you install your operating System

How do I fix spooldr.sys?

Just clean it up, cut its nuts off and sew it up.
What makes you think it's broken?  You could examine the file with a hex viewer like that in IrfanView, replace the file with a fresh or backup copy, or recompile it from source; but assuming it's crashing, it might just be some bad control data around (e.g. if you were printing when your PC crashed) or a malformed print spool file you can delete.
Just run your antivirus programs (see sourceforge and avg for free ones) as usual, but try 'use printer offline' and editing the spool list (print queue, whatever you want to call it) or running debug software to see what file goes in juuust before spooldr.sys crashes.

You miscategorized the problem as being for all PC Desktops when spooldr.sys is specific to something you hold more uniquely, by the way; a particular version of Windows (not XP) or your HP printer.

Kernel data inpage error

It is best practice with a used computer to completely format and
clean-install Windows. In your case, this is what you definitely need to
do after performing some hardware diagnostics. Here are links that will
show you how to do a clean install and what you will need on hand:

YAMAHA CRW8424 gives Track following error..

PROBLEM DEFINITION: Basically, it is a hardware error that occurs when a drive is not capable of following a data track on a CD-R or CDRW or on the other hand, poor power flow may cause the problem SOLUTION: 1. Try use another disc, a disc with a different band. 2. If one doesn't work, you may have to open your system and use a different power connector, making sure no other devices are using the power connector in the same strand. 3. Lastly, if neither the above doesn't work, you may have to send your drive in for servicing as the head may be dirty or misaligned.
