Question about Hunter 20531 Vista Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan

Light pull chain pulled completely out of fan base

I have a Type 2 Hunter Ceiling Fan w/ light (Baseball Style) in my sons room. The chain you pull to turn the light on/off was pulled completly off. I can't connect it back the way it was originally. I can see the very small chain it was connected to when I look up into the small hole it came out of. How can I re attach this???

you have to pull the light kit off and hook it on the switch, if there is not a link left go to the local light store and buy a new pull switch costs about 5 bucks and not had to replace.

You can't get it, you need a new s\witch. The hardware store has them, and you can take the bottom off and pop in the new one, it's really not that bad.

EdI replaced a light switch in my hunter ceiling baseball bat fan light comes on when I pull chain it blows breaker I reversed wires same problem

Are you hearing a sound, often loud, coming from inside the fan when it blows the breaker? I suspect that there's a wire lose inside and the electricity is arcing. Is the fan grounded? It's often a green wire coming out of the fan that has to be screwed into the recessed box in the ceiling.

Hunter Light transponder fail?

Only way to know if it's the light is to take the remote receiver out and try the pull chain on light after rewiring to house wires.

Hunter ceiling fan light will not turn off when I pull the chain. No remote. I replaced the switch, thinking that was the problem, and still the light won't turn off. I have to keep the lights on if I want...

Make sure it's wired correctly to the fan.The light should turn off when you pull the chain weather you have a remote or not. Also the model of the fan should be 5 digits starting with a 2.

I have a Hunter fan with remote. The fan or the light comes on by itself with no one around

See my post below: (Sorry, we're in the same boat)

Hunter ceiling fan with remote, have 5, 4 are seriously impaired! Lights dim to half strengh after variable time 10 seconds-30 minutes. And lights or fan turns on randomly (come home & fan on full blast), and one in which the lights won't dim (just blinks when try to dim)! Hunter "kinda" admits there is serious problem with remote but doesn't have a solution. Tells people to try changing to different code due to possible interference (pain in **** to change code on ceiling base!), was totally ineffective. Then replaced receiver in ceiling base (another total pain) in 3 fans with new ones sent Hunter, still totally useless. Hunter's suggestion, don't use the remote, just use the pull chain. If I had wanted a pull chain fan, I'd have bought a pull chain fan. TOTALLY USELESS! Moral of story: If you want a remote ceiling fan (my friend found out that all their remotes are made by the same company in Taiwan), don't buy Hunter!!!!! P.S. I found a "Kinda"- fix for the lights dimming to half strenth. After turning on the lights, wait 1 second, then dim lights slightly, they will then stay on the strength that you dim them to. - P.P.S. When I changed the receiver in the one where the lights won't dim, it "solved" that problem...Now it has the same problem as the others, lights or fan turn on randomly!

Fan with light (no remote) with wall switch not a 3-way

Unless you want to use pull chains, you will either have to get a different fan with a remote, or you can buy a remote to ADD to an existing fan/light. It hooks up under the base of the lamp. They seem to work better than the factory fans with the built in remotes.
