SOURCE: Missing float for Pegasus toilet

I was told by a plumbing supply shop that Pegasus doesn't allow their parts to be shipped to supply companies, you just have to order the parts directly, 1-800-254-6023.

SOURCE: Pegusas toilet.

I have the same problem .... I took it apart and found that there is not any screws, nuts bolts, washers .... what it is (was) is a piece of lead (like a sinker on the end of a fishing line) attached to the end of the cable, yes the cable, that hooks into the handle and into the top of the flush mechanism - that yellow plastic tube )the cable goes through it) I was able to take it apart and repair the end of the lead weight with a split shot sinker BB - is the size I used. I also had to deform and cut some of the sinker away since the hole it sits in, is small. When I went to Home Depot to buy/get a repolacement unit, one store told me to call the manufaturer -- Foremost and gave me the number, I lost that piece of paper now that I have time to call again, I was left on hold for 10 minutes the first time. 1-888-256-7551 http://www.foremostcanada.com/warranty.php
I just called and pressed a few buttons, waited 2 minutes, got a live person, she asked me what was wrong, I told her that my handle was just spinning, she asked for my model number 131-926 (found on the inside back of the toilet) when I purchased it (make this up, within this year ... and yes you have the receipt - she never asked for it, just that I had one!) she took my address down and gave me a client number .... tada!

Pegasus toilet tank Model # 840565. Handle is cheap plastic and breaks about once a year. Super glue works OK, but would like another handle. Can't seem to find it on the web.

You should be able to procure a side mount toilet tank handle at most any of your local plumbing supply store, it shouldn't have to be 'Pegasus' brand.

The toilet is very poorly desigend - the cheap plastic flush handle is not designed to carry the weight of flipping the tank within the bowl. Of course the handle broke off - what do I do now - short of...

You said it.

Pegasus stuff is designed to fail from what I've seen. Every faucet or fixture they have is prone to failure.

Go back to your place of purchase and have the part replaced under warranty.

Plastic under flush handle stripped.

If the threads are not stripped on the nut or handle it should be fine. IMPORTANT TO KNOW!!! These are left handed threads, Meaning they tighten up the opposite way of a normal nut and bolt. If the threads are bad or damaged, you will have to purchase a new flush handle. They are not expensive at all. $2 - $10 Dollars. But first try screwing the nut on by turning it to the left instead of the right.
