My 1957 ford 601 is very hard to steer to the left but fine to the right. Whats wrong

I believe someone driving the tractor has hit a hole or an object hard enough to stop the tractor and literally spun the steering wheel all the way to one side, thereby bending the spindle or the link connecting the steering box to the spindle. Drive the tractor straight on level ground, stop and get off then look standing at a 25 yard distance in front of the machine looking at the symmetry of the front wheels. That will reveal spindle problems.

Water pump leaks through right side stud on 8n ford tractor

gasket not sealing properly you could try to put silicone on the bolt itself let it dry at least 24 hours then try it. you may need a new gasket make sure you tighten them in sequence usually middle right left top bottom to get a flat tightened match

Craftsman Lawn tractor - When turning to the left the Left front wheel turns much farther then the right front wheel does on a hard right turn. Almost perpendicular to the tractor. Busings are brand new....

I've noticed this on other Craftsman and MTD mowers. The ones with the one main steering rod from the steering wheel to the left wheel and a connecting rod from the left wheel to the right wheel. I think that since we are advised to mow in a counter-clockwise direction, they design the mowers to turn tighter towards the left. It's in the design just like you suspected.

1953 Ford NAA tractor hard to steer. When small front end loader is full I cannot turn left.

Hi..my name is Keith..and i restore 9N's,2N's and 8N's..and i have dabbled with NAA's and others..but i would suspect its in the steering box..and i suspect its the left sector gear(steering gear) is worn or has a bad spot on a tooth..i would jack the front axle up and suport it with jack stands and operate the steering wheel and see if i could feel any binding in the steering box or in the front wheel (Left and Right) axles ..and i would also check the tierod ends..i hope this has helped..if not..please write back

1953 GOLDEN JUBILEE FORD NAA HARD TO STEER

The best place online to find info about the jubilee is at www.ntractorclub.com and post your question there in the forums. They were able to tell me how to change the front oil seal on my jubillee. As i don't have a front end loader on mine, I think that the guys at ntractorclub.com would have the exprience and knowledge that you are looking for. And it is a free service much like fixya but they are only interested in ford n tractors.
