I am having problems with my Husqvarna Ruby De Luxe thread shredding and would be grateful to receive advice.

Hm, wonder if the tension is not stable that it is an intermittent problem or does it occur where there are points where there is more thread buildup than others? Do you raise the presser foot before threading the upper thread so it will seat in the tension disk properly?

The other things I would look at would be the needle and the thread. Some threads work better than others so you may have to experiment with brands. The same with needles--the thread and needle should be compatible. If the thread is shredding at the needle eye, then it is probably a needle issue. Are you using embroidery needles? Maybe try a different type/size of needle (perhaps a needle with a large scarf). Make sure the thread is not too big for the needle's eye--try a lighter weight thread or a larger needle. Sometimes the thread shreds because the fabric (or stabilizer) is actually cutting the thread strands every time the needle penetrates the fabric.

Different machines seem to favor certain needles and threads over others. Some sewists swear by Superior thread, other sewists have better luck with another brand like Floriani. Ergo, needles--some sewists use only Organ embroidery needles, other sewists will use only chrome plated needles.

It may be a matter of finding what works best with your machine.

Top thread is shredding Automatic needle threader stopped working

If the top thread is shredding it is usually because the needle and thread are not compatible. If thread is too large for the eye and the thread groove, the action of sewing will cause the thread to shred as it pieces the fabric.

Try a different needle and thread. Here's an excellent web site:

Brother exedra E-40 why it alway get tangle and brake the threat?

The top thread breaks
1. the needle thread is not threaded properly
2. The needle thread tension is to tight
3. The needle is bent or blunt
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted
5. The needle thread & the bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot when starting to sew
6. the threads were not drawn to the rear after sewing
7. The thread is either to heavy or to fine for the needle
8. Try a different spool or cone of thread

My Pfaff 4.0 breaks needles and shreds thread when free motion quilting

a sewing machine I work on last week, I put a new needle in the needle clamp & thought I had it correctly inserted,, but it wouldn't work,, so I went back & checked the needle again & found I had to unscrew the needle clamp screw even more than normal to insert the needle then it work perfectly.

some needles & thread don't work togeather--here's a tip
Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

also clean under the needle plate where the feed dogs are for lint
& also in the bobbin area for lint & loose threads

My bobbin thread keeps breaking and the machine starts sewing then it slows down and the thread breaks. It makes a terrible noise.like a clunking sound.

rethread the machine top & bobbin
change needles
make sure the needle is inserted correctly
check the top thread tension--3 or 4 usually is good

some needles & thread do not work togeather-try this
Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

if none of these suggestions work then you should consider taking it to a repair shop to be checked

I have a Necchi Sylvia, at least 25 years old. It worked fine until about 1 year ago when I had a problem with the bobbin-case, the needle wouldn't go in properly. Had it looked at and serviced. Now it is...

try rethread the machine top & bottom
if that doesn't work change thread-top & bottom
change the needle
make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
also make sure the bobbin is not warped
here a needle & thread tip

Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

if none of these suggestions work,,it may need to be serviced again,
but try a different repair shop if possible
