SOURCE: My calculator is rounding to

You should move the rounding switch on your calculator. It has three options: an up arrow on the left side (for rounding up) a 5/4 sign in the middle (for rounding off) and a down arrow on the right side (for rounding down). borbalint.png
You may also have to move the decimal point selector switch to set the decimal point position.

How to round to nearest tenth with the number 25,099

TenTH = A fraction of a whole, the 'th' tells that.
So, since 25,099 is a 'Whole' number, with No fraction of a whole, or no part/fraction of 1, therefor, rounded to the nearest tenth, it remains the same.

How to round to the nearest tenths place in this number 40.981

Not sure if this is your question, but, the way we usually round down from 5 and round up from 6. Example: 1.586 rounded to the nearest 100th would be 1.59 , rounded to the nearest 10th would be 1.6... get it?

So, in your example, it would be : 40.98 = nearest 100th , 41.00 = nearest 10th , seeing as the .9 rounded up to a whole number, thus 1 !!

Hope this helps !!
