Setting up a new base for BT8500, I have tried and failed. Could thew base be faulty?

It acts as if it's not receiving call identifier. Check with a different handset you know works. Contact provider if the second handset fails to present CID/CLI.

Otherwise you may need to factory reset and reprogram unit.

if you have a cordless phone and you changed the base with out noticing if it is compatible with the hand piece then it will not connect
read the user manual for the base registering hand pieces for connection

read your manual again

Enter BIOS setting
change SATA type to IDE

Put your battery on a slow charge for about 2 hours or more, clean your terminals, then try it again.
If your battery is a few years old, get a new one. if still no light check your main fuse it will be located close to your battery, replace if needed. Good luck and if you still need help , submit new

if your mouse shows red led light comming from the bottom. then try to hit the reset button. also try to move the base closer or twist its direction a lil bit. hit the connect button. also try unplugging the base unit and plugging it back in. If that fails try it on another computer. if it works on another one, then you have faulty windows drivers.

Here are a couple things you can try.

Clean the charging contacts, this can be done two ways. The manufacture's recommend using a pencil eraser. I recomend using a q-tip and some rubbing alchol. Just rub the alchol soaked q-tip on all the metal contacts on the bases and the bottom of the handset.
