Lost of power

Pull the brushes out - remove 3 screws holding gearcase to handle & remove gearcase with armature from handle.
More than likely you will find the field inside the handle is melted down & binding the armature up. Depending on how long it ran smoking you may have cooked the armature as well.

I want to know the steps needed to replace a 1/2" keyed chuck.on a Milwaukee 0234-6 Magnum Drill

they make a service fixture for that BUT if you can find a thin wall open end wrench that will fit behind the chuck on the hex of the spindle you can still do it. What you will need to do is remove the left hand chuck retaining screw, put the wrench or similar item over the hex and then put the chuck key in a hole that is about a 30 degree so that you can strike it counter clockwise to remove. That chuck is on tight and there no easy way to remove it like you can do on cordless items.

Can I receive a free wiring schematic for a Milwaukee Magnum Hole Shooter, cat. # 0234-1, Please? I got my drill at a yard sale, and all the wires inside the handle are disconnected.

yes you can, go to "" and type in your model number but you also need the serial number, you can download the wiring and also a parts breakdown and owners manual for this tool. Let me know if you need more assistance, I worked on them for 17 years.

Won't turn on with the trigger

Check the position of the forward/reverse switch. If it in between settings, it will not operate.

Chuck is very hard to adjust

Try lubrication, and check that the retaining screw, down inside, has not come loose. failing all of that, replace the chuck.

How do I remove the chuck off a milwaukee hole hawg. Ihave removed the screw inside the chuck and have tryed to trun it off but it wont move.

With the lock screw removed (it's a reverse threaded screw) you can procede with getting the chuck off the drive shaft.

OK, you need to put a 1/4" or larger hex key wrench into the chuck and tighten it in place with the chuck key. Put the short end into the chuck.

Once you've done that, place the drill chuck, only the smooth part, not the part with the teeth, on the edge of a solid workbench. Now hold the chuck with the hex key (long end) at a 30 degree angle off the bench top and strike the hex key with a hammer going counterclockwise (looking at the front of the tool) to loosen the right hand threads that hold the chuck to the shaft (spindle). You should now be able to easily remove the chuck by hand at this point.

Here's link to a manual for your Hole Hawg that will also show a nice illustration of the removal method, to make it a bit easier, as well as giving you other good info about your drill. Print a copy for your files and future reference.

That should do it! Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

10-32x1 Left Hand Chuck Screw for Milwaukee Magnum Holeshooter

any reversible drill will have the lh screw in the chuck
cruise the garage sales, dump shops etc and get a dead drill and remove the screw
could be phillips head or hex head but that will not matter
if you have access to a quality bolt retailer ( not a hardware shop) they will have the screw
go to an appliance repair shop that repairs drills as they may have a dead drill with the chuck still attached
