SOURCE: how do you remove the cartridge from an american

Turn off the water to the shower.

Remove the handle cover (it should pop off)

Remove the center screw (usually phillips head)

Remove the retaining clip holding cartridge in - you can use a pair of long nose piers or a small screwdriver

Grab the cartridge with a pair of pliers and pull straight out. It may require a little force - there are O-rings around the cartridge to keep it from leaking.

Check the cartridge bore (the hole where the cartridge was removed)

Clean any debris or scale - lime away or CLR will work

Apply a little bit of soap around the new cartridge to help it slide in easier. Push it all the way in and make sure it is seated. Re-install the clip (you should have received a new clip with the replacement cartridge)

Turn the water back on a check for leaks

If OK, reinstall the knob screw, and cap.

How to change ol pump on 2001 dodge ram 1500

It won't help. Are you just getting low pressure readings or are the rods knocking? If just the pressure is low, Pull the sending unit. Use a wire(bailing wire works great) and clean out the hole for the sending unit. This hole is deep( 6 to 8 inches) and gets clogged up causing low oil pressure readings. Once clean comes the messy part. Disable the coil/s you don't want it to start. Throw some rags over the hole. Crank the engine over a second or two. You need to blow out the crud you just scraped of the engine. You'll want to hold the rags as someone cranks. The pressure will blow them off and oil goes everywhere. If you have rod knock. Replace or rebuild the engine. It's already to late. Depending on engine size, the pump is in the oil pan or behind the harmonic balancer.

Where do the springs connect on carb.

On most small engines the only spring that matters is one that goes from throttle plate on carb to end of governor arm. This spring must be exact unit, and hooked up in exact spot, because the system works by delicate balancing act. The spring is just strong enough to keep throttle closed most of the time. But when governor arm pulls then the spring is overwhelmed and it lets throttle get pulled open. This is the way that engine gets more power when under max load. If you go to site like Jacks small engine and put in engine numbers you may be able to see where spring went by looking at picture. If you do not have original spring - get one. Motor will never work right without balanced spring. If you run with no spring and throttle goes wide open - even for a minute you will over speed motor.

We own a "converted" condo unit in a building that was previously apartments and now each unit is sold as a condominium unit. I have read about others having issues with cigarette smoke coming in through...

Hello,You need makeup "fresh" air intake vent added. You have a attic fan or when a clothes dryer, range hood, bathroom fan runs it pulls the house into a vacuum or negative pressure. It will pull air from anywhere it can to balance the pressure.Try leaving a window open a little bit for a couple of days(if you can do safely)and see if it works. Then you need a outside air vent installed.I assume the AC intake/return are seprate from the neighbors.

My Ford F150 1985 truck keeps pulling to the right after I go 60mph or faster, would could the problem be?

there are several things, tire balance, tire pressure and alignment, check and make sure your tire pressure is correct, have the tires balanced, and get a front end alignment, this should resolve your issue, Good Luck!

Low oil pressure on 96 toyota 2200cc engine

The oil pump can be changed without pulling the engine.

The impressive looking thing is the balance shaft assembly. These counter-rotating shafts balance out the inherent vibration of the engine. You can remove it, as long as you do not disrupt the gear placements relationship to each other. The balance assembly is set to a specific point.

Plumber reversed the hot and cold lines during installation

Yes it can but I believe only the Pressure Balance Unit needs reversed.

1) Turn off water supply to unit
2) Remove handle/trim if installed
3) Remove cartridge by removing 3 screws holding cartridge
4) Remove retainer ring holding in P.B.U. in valve body by removing 3 screws
5) Remove Pressure Balance Unit, rotate 180ﹾ and reinsert
6) Reassemble in reverse order
