The screen has turned green on my dell 3043 all in one desk top

Try doing the following troubleshooting to see if the issue is resolved.

  • Replace the connection cable, i.e., VGA, DVI, etc.
  • Ensure the graphic card's connections are not loose.
  • Update graphics card driver.
Typically this occurs when one of the above happens, but if none of the above solutions work your graphics card (integrated or dedicated) may need to be replaced.

Dell inspiron 630m laptop. turned it on, programmes started up then died. turn it on now nothing on screen but there is power. no fan running all the time or overheating. think it might be the video card...

> no power
> no fan running

Remove the battery.

Disconnect the AC power adapter.
Use a "multimeter" to test the voltage/amperage output from the adapter.

Connect the AC power-adapter, and try to turn the computer on.
If nothing happens, then the computer's motherboard has "died".

Take the computer to a qualified technician, for professional trouble-shooting.

Last night with I turned on my Dell inspiron 1525 notebook..the screen when white and shut down...I turned it back on and it kept going throught this routine over and over..I was able to keep it on long...

here are some troubleshooting steps: like before remove the battery and the AC adapter, then connect just the AC, see if the LED on the adapter goes out or stays on. If it goes out, see if another adapter (known good is available) or see if you can try one at Bestbuy or such. If the system powers on, then replace the AC adapter.
If no power with a known good AC adapter, then the failure is likely the motherboard or the power board. You can try the powerboard 1st

Lightening strike - Dell inspiron 531. Will not power up

Not just 'lightning strike' but any 'dead' PC.

Unpower the unit and then take off the access side panel. While looking into the unit, put the power back on (plug it in, but DO NOT press the Power button yet). - LED's should light, but no fans should turn. Still looking at the fans - especially the CPU fan, press the Power button and if they twitch then your unit power supply has died.

If they spin for a few seconds then die, look at the capacitors by the memory - if they bulge and are 'wet' then the motherbioard has died - ask Dell for replacement! (This is common, but Dell will only recognise it at the point of walking into the court, then only if you sign a secrecy agreement/gagging order!).

Dell Inspiron 700m

I have a Dell Inspiron 5100. I've had it for about three years. One day it did the same thing, no power, no fan, nothing. I replaced the power supply with a 350 watt unit from Office Max. I spent about $40 and I'm using my Dell to send you this response.

when you start it , do you have it running on the power supply or battery? Or, does it not matter?
