SOURCE: Dishwasher door needs repair

Bear, sounds like one or both of your door springs came off or broke. If you remove the toe panel you will be able to see them on the left and right side. This is not a hard fix. They attach to the bottom of the door and to the rear of the frame. If your model number begins with 36315121 your part numbers will be wd03x10006 and wd03x10007. Good luck, Catriver

hi,

what you need to do is slack off the spring tension on the door hinges. each side of the unit at the base on the plinth there is a screw with a spring symbol next to it. turn this anti clockwise to reduce the spring tension.

Hope this helps

hi,

you need to adjust the door tension springs which is by a screw each side of the hinges on the plinth of the unit at the front. There is a symbol of a spring to show you which screws to release. do them evenly and the door will not spring up,

SOURCE: WHEN OPENING THE DISHWASHER DOOR, IT DROPS QUICKLY.

Actually I found out that for a LG dishwasher it is as likely to be the cable/cord attached to the spring and door. This a very odd setup in that this cable is made of nylon cord, and not any thicker than a round shoelace! It clearly should be metal cable, and it's not that hard to replace the nylon stuff with steel. Anyway, it is worth it to pull the unit out and open the side panel to see if in facts it's a broken cord or spring first before ordering any parts.

LOOKING FOR A DETAILED LAYOUT OF THE PART NUMBERS FOR A MIELE DISHWASHER G880SC

that is easy. miele is the only place that sells miele parts. you are going to have to deal with them to get replacements. no other suppliers and no parts to research. 800 843 7231. i have seen some parts on ebay so may be worth a shot.

The door handle is coming loose on one side. How can you tighten it down? it looks like you have to take off the front panel to get to the screw to make it tighter. Do you have to unscrew all the screw...

Hello,

You are correct on this style dishwasher the front panel will need to be removed in order to tighten the handle. Remove the screws around the edge of the door once off the panel will lift up and off.

There will be a bigger screw coming in from the back side, loosen and put a little lock tight on the threads and you will never have to take the dishwasher apart again, that trick works for me..

The door of my Miele G646 SCI semi-integrated dishwasher has suddenly become stiff to move up or down. I am guessing there is a problem with the spring? Any suggestions what to try or how to get access?

Most probably the decor door has swollen and catching on adjoining cabinets. removed decor door via two screws down the left and right hand side of door and see if that helps. If springs snaps then the door will drop very quickly and take the skin off you shins
