SOURCE: SHE44C07UC Question: I have unreadable

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa,

Initially I`d suspect a control/timer issue however, I`m curious about the display.

How would you describe what is being displayed ?

I`ll watch for your reply.

Spa thermal overheating

Turn off all power to the hot tub as soon as you realize it is overheating. The spa should have an automatic shut off when the water temperature reaches about 112 degrees fahrenheit. Call your hot tub dealer or manufacturer for service options. There are a variety of conditions that could lead to the overheating of your hot tub, but may differ in various hot tub models and brands. Check the water level of the hot tub. Low water levels could be the culprit for the over heating, so you may just need to add more water to the hot tub.
Check the shut-off valves in the hot tub. If they are closed while the hot tub heater is on, it could cause the water to reach unsafe temperatures.
Clean the hot tub filter. A dirty filter could be blocking the flow of water, causing the water to sit in the hot tub and overheat.
Turn the power back on after finding the problem and talking to the hot tub dealer. The hot tub will probably not start back up until the water reaches a safe temperature

The HL indicator light comes on and I can not get it to reset. I shut spa off and the HL light was on again when I checked an hour later. I live in Wisconsin and don't want my tub to freeze. Tub was used...

It sounds like a flow issue. When the HL comes on, its sensing a higher temp than it is supposed to. This is usually caused by bad flow in the circulation pump.

The most likely cause of the bad flow in residential spas, is a bad filter element. Even if a filter looks clean, they do get clogged with particles we cant see. To test this, make sure the spa is free of debris, and remove the filter element. Run spa for a while and see if the code comes back. If it doesnt, get a new filter.

Otherwise the pump could either be failing, or clogged. Check this next.

Finally if these dont work, check the temp sensor (thermistor) .

I have a LTF2940ES3 and the water drains slowly and not completely. I get the error code E20 and I have already checked the exterior hose and it is not clogged. I washed a stuffed toy pillow and it tore...

There is a filter in the black hose that goes from the tub to the pump. It must be where the toy stuffing blocked the water from draining. Access the hose through the front bottom panel then remove it from the bottom of the tub to get the filter out and clean it.

Remove the two screws attaching the front bottom panel to the cabinet then slide the panel down and off the cabinet. Prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access the screws more easily.

Loosen the clamp holding the tub-to-pump hose to the tub to remove it and take out filter. Clean the filter then reinstall it and the front bottom panel in reverse order of the removal steps.

HL displayed on digital control panel Aruba 1060

Jamie ...

Please do not sit in a tub that is, or claims to be, above 100 degrees F - unless there is a trained, licensed doctor or therapist watching you. 108 is deadly - don't find out by accident.

I think there is something seriously wrong with your tub - you need a pro to look at it. Your tub should not heat above 100 and it should only heat if the pump is running. If it is heating with the pump not running, it will quickly burn out and possibly cause other, expensive troubles.

Our artic spa hot-tub is showing HL in the panel and is not heating up as it should. Everything else seems fine. Why?

HL is normally a "high limit" fault. If your filter is clean and you have sufficient flow, you may have a faulty high limit sensor. It should be mounted on the heater itself. The high limit sensor shuts the heater off if it senses excessively hot water. Check to see that you have sufficient flow, clean the filter, and make sure the filter pump is running. If everything else is running properly, you may have to replace the high limit sensor.
