SOURCE: We were wondering the torque on the head bolts on

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. These torques are from the Kohler Service manual for the

There are 5 bolts.... as you look at the bolts there should be 3 on the left side

Bolt 1 is the center (offset bolt)
Bolt 2 is upper right
Bolt 3 bottom left
Bolt 4 upper left
Bolt 5 lower right.

Torque them in the sequence above... to 15 Ft lbs. or 180 inch lbs
reset your torque wrench and then torque them to 30 Ft lbs or 360 inch lbs.

Rocker arms center nuts (called mounting screws) are first torqued to 55 inch lbs then to 100 inch lbs.

Then to set the valve lash you back off the set screw lock nut torque and set the valve lash to .003 - .005 final set screw lock nut torque is 65 inch lbs. Engine must be at TDC i.e piston all the way to the top to make the correct adjustments.

Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: what would cause my toro zero turn lawn mower to quit pulling?

Put as you have stated it, the most simple answer is that it has a broken drive belt - unless it is shaft driven. If it is, then you need to take it in to a good mechanic. Also, if it is indeed belt-driven, and the belt broke, it's ability to pull would have been immediately obvious and you would have seen remnants of the drive belt either on the lawn or, when you checked it, it would still be, although broken, stuck up in the belt housing. . .

If the transmission is hydrostatic and has some hours on it, the transaxle may be going bad. If this has been getting worse as you use it. If the problem happened suddenly, could be a belt loose or stretched.

Excessive vibrating

Exsessive vibration is normally attributable to the mower deck. If the vibration is occurring while the blades are engaged and cutting this would indicate a need for further investigation. Check the blades for damage or uneven ware. If the blades are new or appear in good shape check the mandrals and shafts to ensure they are not Brocken or bent. You can get mandrel assembly's for around $60.00 online and replace all you need in one go.
