Why has my screen gone blank?

If you are sure you have enough battery, try a forced reboot to confirm the phone is working by pressing and holding the power button for about 1 minute or until the phone powers back on.

I can make and receive calls but my screen is black

Yo! that is a problem with the flex that came with the phone. Flex comes with phones with flip or slide, it helps link the movable parts of the phone. all you can do to solve the problem is to see an electronic engineer to replace the flex. take care.

Motorola razr screens (small & main) are black and keypad will not light up. Phone still works though.

Hi,What causes the phone the screen of the phone to go black and the keypad light not coming on, is because the flex of the phone that is connected to the screen and allows the keypad to function is bad and will need to be replaced .When you replace the flex, the phone will work properly again.

Have a nice day

Resetting phone

master reset: you can do the master reset by start>system tools>master reset can also be done by re-booting your Q snd quickly pressing down and holding the red button and center silver selection button simultaneously before the verizon's symbol appears. you may have to do this several sure to erased the memory of your Q clean before doing this.if both doesn't work, follow the next set of instructions 1. Be sure to have atleast 75% battery on your Motorola Q
2. Be sure that you have backed up all data on the device since this will wipe the device clean
3. Power off the Motorola Q
4. Power on the Motorola Q
5. Once you see the initial carrier screen, hold the center button on the navigation pad.
6. Keep it held until you get a “Master Reset?” screen.
7. Click the left softkey for “Yes” and the phone will wipe and reload the OS from ROM

BE SURE NOT TO REMOVE THE BATTERY WHEN YOU DO THIS or you may ‘brick’ your phone.

I have a HP Altec Lansing laptop. The screen is totally black, except for the mouse which I can move. I have restarted in every mode, but can't get it to a normal screen.

you might need to reinstall your operating system. a black screen with just a movable mouse could be caused by corrupted windows.

Screen turn Black

Put your phone in a bag, put it in the freezer...
It will might work until it warms up again..

It might be your screen, it might be the body of the phone...

for the screen...

get a TORX 6 screwdriver

take it apart
Google for V220 take apart/ disassembly

WIggle the tiny flex cable connector
near the hinge.. still no luck ????

Buy another V220 on ebay

gently take the phone apart and sub in the whole
screen shell and front of keypad.

DO NOT TRY TO remove the screen from the body section..
you will destroy to the teeny tiny flex cable.

Still problems?
then its the body... your phone is useless
undo what you did, re-assemble the parts phone,
learn how to flash the spare phone..

USB adapter
Motorola P2K drivers for XP
Motorola or other flash tools
enter phone service mode
connect phone to pc
flash back to V 364 firmware
run unlocker
flash unlock firmware
enter dummy unlock
reflash to v365 firmware

More details googling above and reading lots

OR.. Pay $10-20 have someone else do it...

I wont, too much work...
