Re: Samsung sp-43j8hf green colour out off allignment

This fault is pretty bad to have,
The liquid you have mentioned is the coolant that is from the jacket that is around the Crt.
This liquid is very TOXIC so please ensure you have thouroughly washed your hands.
The jacket that the Crt is fitted in to is not available as spare part, The leak will be from the rubber expantion bladder as the Crt gets hot the coolant expands the excess pressure then goes in to the bladder yours will have a small split in it hence the leak.
Im afraid you will need new green Crt & new crt base socket.
This will be expensive to repair.

D52w19 rca tv...has green screen..all crts seem to light up at the base but only green is on screen..also a looks like a burn dot in the middle of the screen.....sound works..powers on and off ok

With the symptoms you describe. I the problems that i see is one. the Green crt is overdriving, or the blue and red crt are burnt out. the glow on the bottom is the heater element. and the tube could be still be bad. There is another possible cause. the crt driver boards could be damaged too. the little cuircit boards on the crt neck. these boards can go bad because the tubes can leak coolant onto the board. look for something wet on and under these boards. this coolant is conductive and corosive. most of the time i have seen the tubes go out at the shop the tv will not remain on, There could also be problems with the high voltage distribution block again this ussally leads to a shutdown. but not always ... If it is faulty tubes. most of the time the set is not value worthy of fixing. cost is to much both in parts and labor. If it is the crt boards. you might be able to replace them. for about 75 per board.

There is a green line that surrounds things, like a 3d image. the green is out of allignment. Can i order the parts i need?

All projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video or dead set) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both.

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. In some cases the TV will also not show any video. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D, wavy, or has a shadow or shadows
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Sp 55w3hf Convergence

Some TVs do use three ICs, one for each colour. These ICs are likely all identical. There could be fuses blown. Fuses can look just like resistors. A manual points them out or they are shown on the board as F101, or ICP 101 or CP101 or the like. Fuses usually affect ALL the colours at once, so I am looking for the third IC.

The picture is greenish

chances are you have a bad tube or bad Video IC on the CRT board that connects to Tube! Look on your CRT Board and replace the video IC first.

Samsung Tantus (SP-43J8PF) Has Green Tinge - Easy fix?

You may try to get into the service menu and adjust screens/drives level(procedure below). But first turn the color off completely and adjust you brightness to mid-range, what you`ll want to do is a grey raster or bring it as black and white as you can while adjusting the red/green /blue guns or tubes. Also get a piece of paper and pen because you`ll want to record the original values of the items you may change. You want to go into the adjustment menu. Hope this will help Good luck
In quick sequence on the remote press:
MUTE - 1 - 8 - 2 - POWER buttons.

The TV will turn On with the Service Menu displayed.

Select the function and use the VOL+ button to enter.
Save settings and exit by pushing MUTE twice then POWER .

The picture has lost focus and lost green

hard to say for sure, but the front opens up when you remove the bottom or edges. inside you need to inspect the CRT boards for any fluid leaks. there are focus adjustments on a black controller with 3 knobs on it. I would say take a look at the middle tube (green tube) if its dark and the circuit are dry. Try cleaning the CRT pins with the TV off, simply pull the cba/socket down and push it back up.
so lets see no green tube lite , cleaned pins no fluid, next tap it to see if it flashes bright, no OK now on the grn CRT circuit board slowly TV ON turn up the control you see and see if the green gets brighter. The CRTs are fluid filled and the fuild can get cloudy causing it to get dark and blury too. to check the fluid you would need to pull the screen off (a real pain)
these steps will help you isolate the isue and decide what to do next, hope this helps

Mitsubishi vs60719 dead pictuer tube leaked looks like it is green tube wet singal broad & power broad no blow fuses reraly dont trick

The Cooling fluid is a glycol based and is very conductive and corrosive. If it leaked on the Signal board the board will need to be replaced as well as the Green CRT. I would look very close to the other two CRTs for any signs of leaking. The cost will probably be too much to invest into this set especially when there is no guarantee that the other two CRT,s will not leak in the near future. There is also a good chance that Mitsubishi no longer has the Signal board available. You can check at
I hope this helps,

Need new green picture tube

You dont need a new tube. What you need is to repair the seal on your old tube and replace the CRT coolant fluid. There is a coolant chamber attached to the tube with long bolts with springs on them that contains coolant to prevent your tubes from getting hot. Yours may just need tightening, but I would replace the seal just to be safe as thecoolant can and will destroy your circuit board if its allowed to continue to leak on it.
