I had the same problem in 2007: I removed the cover and manually encouraged the cd drawer to open. It has been working ever since.

AVI is just a container - a wrapping that holds together a video and audio file. Make sure that the codecs used to create the video files are the ones that are listed as accepted by the Teac - DivX5 and XviD1 and 2. For that install this program in your pc
http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
then use it to analyse the files.
Final test is to put one of those files in a memory stick and plug it in the tv - if the files are recognized and played from there then the Astone disk is either too large or incompatible with your tv - it happens. Use another smaller disk.

Why does my Teac ag h500 keep saying protect?

Hi. Unfortunately the protection circuit is saving your speakers from a fault, most likely one side of the amplifier in the unit is defective.

This needs an engineer.

Have recently purchased TEAC GB3800 Mini Ghetto Blaster. SD and USB ports don't play.Is there a special procedure. NB Nothing wrong with SD or USB.

Cant get my pc to recognize the teac mp3 drive. it shows up as the G drive but cant access it. removed it and reinstalled it a still doesn't work. comes I tried different ports none work. the device is a...

Try to dowmload recovery firmware from here:

http://www.teac.eu/no_cache/hifi-audio/support/mp3-player/mp-114/?sword_list[0]=mp114

After decompress it, run factory4.exe the connect device to USB.
Use first check device function and then firmware upgrade.
I hope your teac will come back to work fine again.
