Question about Vizio Televison & Video

1 Answer

Vizio M422i-B1 TV won't turn on. Opened up and checked power supply board but the pins for the 5 volt standby power aren't connected to the cable. How else can I verify the power board is not bad?

You should have 5V on pins 15 and 16 of connector CN9100 of the power supply. If you are not getting any voltages on the connector, the power supply board is bad.

I have a vizio e65x c-2 , it shut off on me, and won't turn back on..... no lites @all. I would like to know how to test the power board to see if it needs replaced, or the logic board. Any help is...

First thing to do is see if the main fuse is blown, if it is then the power supply needs to be changed or the hot side of the board serviced. Use extreme caution if working on the hot side of the power supply board as there are DC voltages over 300 volts there...If the fuse is good check the 5 volt standby supply voltage, generally on Vizio its pin 1 but there will be a legend to tell what pin it is. if its around 5 volts its good, if not the power supply low side has issues, and sometimes this is bad capacitors. Next thing to check if you have 5 volts is the PS on terminal , find the correct pin get your meter on it and turn the set on, the 0 volts with the set off should go to about 3.5 volts, if it does then the main board is good and its a power supply issue, if you don't see about 3.5 volts then look at a bad main board, There is a fuse in the main board that can be tested but its rare its bad...Hope this helps some

My Vizio E500i-B1 won't turn on, replaced the power board, still won't turn on. 24V pins are only putting out 15V, PS-On is outting out .3V. What can I check next? Please help! Thanks!

Disconnect all the circuit boards from the power supply board and test the voltages again. If the voltages are correct, connect the other boards one at a time to see if one is dropping the voltage on the power supply. If you find one that lowers the power supply voltages to what you read before, that may be the problem board.

I have a vizio E420vo LED tv. One day I plugged my phone into the USB port to charge it. The tv popped, and shut off. I was able to turn it back on and continue watching tv. The next day the tv would not...

plugging your phone into the tv is not a good idea. but if you have changed both boards and its still not working then there is a fault with the boards you replaced, the usb works off the 5 volts supply on the tv that controls the standby and startup, its only a 1amp system, and the power is from the psu (board on the left ) if there is no 5 volts then there is no startup. swap the parts over that you have, but i think you have bought a broken board. would say the psu is more likely to be your fault.

Vizio m422i b1 power on for 3 second then cut off

Main board fault. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Vizio SV470XVT1A has no backlight. (If I shine a flashlight on the front of the TV I can see the picture, and I still have audio.) I have read the ''LCD Flat Panel TV trouble shooting guide'' and found...

The 24vdc is turn on by the signal from the main logic board, it is not always on, the standby 5vdc is always on. So yes it can be the power supply board is bad, but just to besure we need to find out if it is getting the turn on signal from the main board first.
You can have 24vdc at the inverter board and it will not light up the CCFL until it gets the signal from the main logic board to turn the lamps on (this is the STANDBY condition, the TV is on but the screen in not lit up util it see the video signal).
Send me good clean and clear pictures of the power supply board, budmrtn@aol.com, connectors of the Power supply, bottom side of the board, then I may be able to tell you which pin is a control input pin. Most people will just throwing parts in and hope that they one of the parts will fix the problem. Used Power supply module for this TV is over $100. http://www.google.com/products?rlz=1T4GGIH_enUS282US283&q=delta+DPS-379AP&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=USsxTKn3J6TonQfFlJGEBA&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CCsQrQQwAw
