When sewing the thread coming of the bobbin bunches up and jams the machine it even does the same thing on my digital brothers ce1100prw project runaway limited edition computerized sewing machine

Sounds like bird nesting or thread nesting--I prefer to call it "thread mess."

Be sure to start with a brand new needle.

Remove the top thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.
Verify the thread path is correct.
Set the top tension to the midway point and test your machine.
Adjust the top tension as needed so the top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric.
Happy sewing!

I have a brother ce1100prw and the feed dogs are not working

Perhaps the feed dogs are in the dropped position, which means they do not rise above the needleplate to grip and advance the fabric.

Also, be sure the stitch length is set high enough that the needle will not sew in place.

How do I set the stitch length and width. Have been doing as the manual said and doesn`t seem to work.

Sometimes you also need to change the foot as well for monogramming. Do check this in the manual.

I I my brand new brother xr-7700 manual says to look on page 49 -50 for monograming but NOTHING THERE

I think that you will find that monogramming is done free style, we used to lower the feed dog and put our piece to be monogrammed into an embroidery hoop then use a satin stitches and sew whatever we wanted. You can call Brother. I downloaded your manual (after looking at your manual) I see what you mean

I would like to find a machine that monograms and does not cost over $500. All I want to be able to do is the traditional 3 letter monogram (larger letter in center) or a child's name, such as Charlotte...

My advice is to try going to a shop that sells machines and gives lessons for free. I bought from JoAnn's and they gave me lessons on it. I bought a Brother for $549 and I am not sorry because I actually know how to use it thanks to the girls at JoAnn's. I would not be using all of the features if I didn't have the hands on instruction. The manual is great for a refresher but nothing beats doing it and someone answering your questions. Think about it before you buy online, you may save a few bucks but in the long run you will be happy to have a relationship with people who care if you have a problem and can help you.

How do you monogram and embroider with this sewing machine (brother XL-6562

Turn the pattern selector to the pattern you want, set the width and length dials to your liking.

Your machine does not do embroidery.

Hi there!

Bit of a con eh?

Is it the Innov-is 700E ? as featured here?

Most machines can embroider.
The foot advance claw need to be disengaged, then a frame is needed to hold the material flat.
Select a zig-zag stitch, mark out your pattern and away you go!

Basically filling in your marked design with zig-zag stitch.

If it is the computerised version - ask the store for a demonstration.

Hope this helps, If so , rate as fixya!
if not - ask and I'll do the best I can.

Thanks for using Fixya! (I don't get paid for this you know. I just like helping folk)

Using my monogram machine

The one thing I've found is that when using the fonts stored in the machine, you need to treat each as a separate design. Then you would change the size of the Center Letter. I, too, wish the manual was more instructive. It is much easier to use a separate software program where you can create lettering and monograming. Do you have PED Basic, the program that allows you to download from your computer? That is a very good investment (about $150) and you can get free designs and download purchased lettering from different web sites. There is also a good site where you can join for a small monthly fee and create lettering and monograming. You also have access to over 7000 designs that you can download free whenever you want. It is well worth the price of $9.00 per month and you don't have to be limited to a bunch of emboidery cards or just the built in designs on your machine. One final idea...go the and request more instruction on the embroidery portion.
