If u know your multimedia device name & manufacturer name &brand name. U just open your my computer window, right button click the blank space, after properties, hardware, device manager open & u found your multimedia option symbol is ( ! ) type. Select right button & update the driver on the net. Or, u open your Google web site & write the multimedia device name (Enter). After u found your device driver details.
Pleaes open the Device Manager and right click on the Yellow exclamation mark. Now, click on update Driver and select Install from Advanced Location. Type the Location as C:\Windows\inf and click on Ok. The Driver should be installed now.
Well u need to install the drivers properly.. Might be possible that u would had installed ur driver previously. I'll suggest u to remove the previous installed driver & now try to install the driver again, say fresh driver installation.. Now when u are asked to plug in the usb cable, click later or no & continue..
later when every wizard of installation is completed, restart ur machine once... Now after restarting, now plug in ur usb printer cable... Even after that u find that device is not recognized, go to device manager from My Computer's Properties.. Select go to USB Section ( Always the Last Option) Expand the tab & select the unknown device.. Uninstall it & then press F5. Now again a pop up wil occur, now follow the instructions & install the driver manually..
I hope this will work out.. If not, feel free to ask.. I'll love to help u...

you dont get any responds or recognition from windows other then in the deivce manager. it is working on the older joystick system so only the game has the capability of recognizing and making the button assignment if it supports joystick drivers.
in case your using driver that are too new here are the drivers for 15 pin logitech devices.
Hi there, i dont know if this is of any relevence however, i have just spent the whole afternoon trying to install my new printer, every time i installed my disk a little icon popped up saying usb didnt recognise the device, despite endless frustration i did it another way, If your printer is a usb connection then before inserting the disk connect the printer to the computer and switch on, this then brings up the wizzard which should help you install, if this doesnt work...trust me it took me ages, try different usb ports, i finally found one that picked up the printer, after it detected the device i was then able to continue with instalation via the disk and wohoo many hours later i have a printer, unfortunatley i have now run out of paper doh!!! i hope this helps someone :-)
when you were installing the software did a taskbar pop up appear and tell you that hardware was found, and then proceeded to install the cam and inform you that the Logitech STX is now installed and ready for use?
If not then the cam may need to be tried in another usb port as of yet it has not been recognised by windows.
Also if this is being used on a laptop, sometimes there is not enough power amps being sent be the usb port to recognise, again trying a different port may solve that.
If all else fails re install the software again, but make sure windows is allowing the cam to work, as sometimes there is an updater programme that works in conjunction with the cam to update drivers etc, this will probably be being dissalowed by either windows or your internet security programme and any part of the software that is being blocked may be stopping your cam also.
