I have low thyroid and have not had any medication for 3 weeks, I'm not feeling myself. How is this effecting my body.

Signs and Symptoms Initially, many patients do not experience any symptoms and therefore do not get diagnosed with hyperthyroidism until it is more advanced. In older people, some or all of the typical symptoms of hyperthyroidism may be absent, and the patient may just lose weight or become depressed. Typical symptoms of the condition include:
  • Nervousness and irritability
  • Increased resting heart rate, which causes heart palpitations
  • Heat intolerance and increased sweating
  • Tremors
  • Weight loss with increase in appetite
  • Frequent bowel movements
  • Thyroid enlargement causing a lump in the neck
  • Pretibial myxdemia, which causes a thick redness on the front of legs and typically occurs with Graves' disease
  • Thin, delicate skin and irregular fingernail and hair growth
  • Menstrual disturbance, such as decreased flow
  • Mental disturbances
  • Sleep disturbances, including insomnia
  • Changes in vision, eye irritation or exophthalmos, which is a protrusion of the eyes that typically occurs with Graves' disease

Should I be concerned about a low pulse rate of 65?

Not knowing your medical history, age , etc... It is hard to answer. I can only tell you that my pulse has varied between 48 (in my early forties when I was playing a lot of soccer), to between 65 and 70 today and I am 62 years old. To me, a pulse rate of 65 sounds like a very healthy indicator. Of course, your doctor would be the person you should ask, since he or she knows your medical history.

Can reading in dim light damage your eyes?

Reading in darkly lit rooms won't cause actual damage to your eyes, but might strain them and make you feel more tired. It's much better to read in better lighting and to take regular breaks.

Is it normal to experience some weird lights and sensations in the eye after eye laser surgery? I have these occasional starbursts and am freaking out.

Don't worry - it's actually perfectly normal to experience vision issues such as light sensitivity, starbursts, halos etc for a few weeks after laser corrective surgery. If after a month, you are still experiencing the symptoms or something is bothering you about your vision, then you should go back to your doctor.
